gphotos_sort's Issues

Unable to sort albums of about 1000

Thank you for this nice plugin, it implements a very nice feature!

When sorting an album with a quantity of about 1000, opening the album prompts that it is an empty album. However, you can still see 1000 items in the album cover. When trying to add a new image to an album, only the newly added image is displayed.
Tested several newly created albums with the same situation

UPDATE: The web site still doesn't show the content, but logging into the Android client does.

Gphotos_sort google albums fail with errors

I have used the sort album with great pleasure for years,, but now it doesn't work any more.

First error was because my sort app had manifest 2, but then I changed to current which has manifest 3.

Now it gives the following errors:

  1. Google photo sorter by name says: No response from content.js
  2. Retrying will give following error: Photos google com says: SyntaxError: Unterminated string in JSON at position 371 (line 1 column 372)

I sincerely hope I can get some help, as I use sorter by changing filenames in Lightroom when I have arranged the photos in "story order", which then can be redone in Google photos by using the gphotos_sort-master

No longer working?

Not used this tool for a while, but tried today. I keep getting this error:
Is this no longer working?

Thanks

Infinite loop Sorting...

So it worked fine 2 days ago, but now when I click a button it just hangs on "Sorting..." loop.
I specifically reinstalled the plugin, rebooted PC, and created a small test album with just a few photos.
Looking forward to an update about that

Icon Gray

Hey, everything seams to almost work, aside from the Icon and GPhotos sort option are gray. When are you able to click on them?

Only 300 photos after sorting

Hello,
Thank you for this nice plugin, that google does not want to implement since 2011.

An annoying issue is that I can only see 300 photos after sorting with the extension, while my album contains 433 photos.
In the albums list page, it still indicates 433 elements, but when I open the album I can only see the first 300.
There is no error when sorting.

Is there any easy way to fix this ?

Can't load the extension

When I try to load the extension I get an error in the manifest.json file: "Line 7 Column 1 Unexpected token".

And figuring out what's wrong is way above my pay grade ;)

Thanks!

solution to typeerror problem

Your software is extremely useful. Thanks for it. I got "TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '21')" message. After trying everything, I think I solved the the problem. Just go to "edit album" and make google photos sort photos. That is it. Now you can continue to use extension without a problem. I hope this information helps. Thanks again...

The extension seems to be broken

I made an album with just 10 photos and when I click on the icon and then click on "sort by name" it displays "sorting..." forever.
I used this extension before many times and it was OK. In the previous version I noticed a problem in JS and therefore downloaded the new one but now I don't have access to JS and can't show where the problem is.
Please help. Thanks

Sort order

Is there a way to list the files in numeric order rather than text order? For example, currently files are listed like:
11.jpg
110.jpg
5.jpg
88.jpg

Can the sort order be changed to list numerically to this:
5.jpg
11.jpg
88.jpg
110.jpg

Thanks!

Can't handle large albums

I love this add-on, and it has single-handedly saved me untold grief, but it seems to consistently fail on large albums. It looks like the break-point is ~500 images? I've gotten around this by breaking things up into smaller albums, but it would help me a great deal if the cap could be increased to 1000.

Extenson Sorts Images Correctly, but Generates SameSite Error Warnings

The extension does sort the images in the Google Photo Album.

It has started to generate this error. Its repeated 15 times.

A future release of Chrome will only deliver cookies with cross-site requests if they are set with SameSite=None and Secure. In Blogger's editor you can insert images from several sources.

When you choose "From Google album Archive" you apparently navigate to a archived version of the Google Photos folder instead of the actual Google Photos folder you justed sorted. The photos in folder you access from Blogger's editor are not sorted, yet if you navigate to the actual archive folder in your browser the images are sorted.

Thank you!

Sorted an album of 1200 photos without any issue. Much appreciated. That's all. Feel free to close this issue.

Not working

It always worked, but now stopped. Anyway to fix?

Doesn't seem to work any more

Just tried with a couple of albums; the icon does not appear in the toolbar. I followed the instructions carefully.

Google Ending Unlimited Storage!

Google is ending unlimited storage next year.

This is really going to mean leaving Google for me. I upload images to Google Photos in ablums so that they can easily be found for later insertion into Blogger posts. This I'll have to insert them into Blogger articles so that they are storage within Blogger's own backup archive which is not currently included in the limit. I'll then need to delete the images form Google Photos. This means later editing Blogger posts will be a nightmare as you'll be forced to manually search for the images within Blogger's backup archive within a large vertically scrollig grid versus simply going to a named folder.

I wasn't sure how to leave a message so I'll open and close a issue as a message.
