compress: `tar -czvf icons.tar.gz *.icns`

Find `*.app` in the Applications folder, select it and press ⌘ + i.
Drag `*.icns` onto the application icon. 

Delete the icon cache and restart Dock:
$ rm /var/folders/*/*/*/com.apple.dock.iconcache; killall Dock
