I made a mistake reporting this: I encountered it in 749. In any case I just
tried
757 myself and it's still doing it.

And looking through the docs more, I find that there's a command to ask it
nicely not
to grab the mouse, meaning the problem here might just be that the ungrab
command is
unobvious and the game doesn't realized when the mouse has escaped it by other
means.

Actually I can't reproduce this and forgot what my fix was, so if anyone has a
surefire way to do it, mention it here.

Basically the bug is that it grabs the cursor when it shouldn't be grabbing the
cursor. It needs to ONLY grab the cursor when it is clearly INSIDE the window,
not merely over the title bar, and ONLY when a mouse button is pressed. ANY
OTHER TIME it need to LEAVE THE CURSOR ALONE!!!

As far as I can see, this is an SDL bug. I've had it repeatedly happen to me on
other SDL applications that grab the mouse (DosBox, VVVVV). Might be worth
testing to see if this is still present on recent SDL (1.3/2.0/whatever it is
these days).
