Hey, first it is a good news for me to find that this add-on supported Chinese Simplified locale from version 4.3.
But I find it is hard to understand what the Chinese characters mean.
I guess that must be from google machine translation or something like that.
So I translated the add-on into Chinese Simplified, and I think it is better than the existing locale.
you can download the localized xpi file from here(including the zh-CN folder and new install.rdf file):
http://www.box.com/s/727a3a9e8cc05d6010e9
It would be nice if you include that into your add-on.
Must copy over the style class while transferring them to the bookmarks toolbar
Up until the other day I've been using Locationbar² as a similar enhancement to the address bar, but it's become a bit outdated and always lacked a few features. This add-on fills those perfectly! It's an excellent idea and very well executed, you have my admiration and gratitude for this!
There are though a few things that I believe to be a bit off, mostly having to do with my personal taste and with how it all fits into my own browser theme and view. I've started modifying my local copy of the add-on to better suit my own browser and I guess I got a bit carried away, sorry about all this, I think I liked it a bit too much :P
You can view all of my changes in https://github.com/Quicksaver/UIEnhancer/commits/master , if you want to implement them I'd be happy to create pull requests for them if you'd like to save you the trouble of copying everything but if you don't I understand.
Once again, I loved the add-on.
A function where in to integrate the search bar and location bar into one. I know that Omnibar can be used in tandem with Location Bar Enhancer but if the features are added into Location Bar Enhancer, then users who used both can reduce their number of add-ons.
When url-addon-bar is installed and there's enough icons in the Addon Bar (say 6, or 2 and the Progress Meter) and the currently displayed URL is long enough, the whole Firefox window just gets stretched beyond the desktop's right edge. It seems happen more often if the Search Bar is removed.
I am running firefox 3 and it does not support the current version of the addon, where can i download an older but still working version?
Just updated to 4.7, and I found in setting window there's some new options, with machine translation.
Since the new locale not submit to Babelzella yet, I re-translated them from add-on file.
here's the locale files: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5909415/lbe4.7_zhtw.zip
BTW, thought the sentences looks like Chinese, they're really hard to understand.
I thought even using English directly would be way clearer then that...
Hello!
I'm using Firefox 13.0
When went to the (for example: about:addons) and I clicked on about i was redirected to about.com. I should be redirected to about:about or about:
Example:
http://savepic.net/2972660.htm
This add-on makes high cpu usage when I click on an url that popup a new window. It make Firefox hang and I can't do anything just close firefox by task manager.
Small feature request; clicking the last path name part (/49/
on this page) won’t do anything.
Could you make it so that clicking it will reload the page?
when "bring bookmarks toolbar up" is checked, then sometimes the bookmarks toolbar overflows (and is hidden) the Firefox screen.
Hi, below the Breadcrumbs I can see the web site in original format (text), making read any text or web direction almost impossible.
The two are in the same place (text and Breadcrumbs).
Here's a screen shot: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/90/uibe.jpg/
Again, sry for my english.
I'm using Pale Moon 15.1.1-x64 on Windows 7x64 Ultimate.
My installed ad-ons:
Tx in advance.
If you search for something on Google, click a link without moving your mouse afterwards, and use ALT+LEFT to go back a page, then your mouse will be over the link still of course. You'll notice that if the two URLs in the location bar are long enough, they'll cause the window to grow horizontally. This is similar to this issue: #24
Hi i'm the one who posted this review :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ui-enhancer/reviews/342910
First of all i want to thank you for addressing my comments so quickly, very good job.
I have one last suggestion / problem to report though. Currently the window resizes correctly until it reaches the end of the URL.
This can be a bit annoying sometimes.
Could you make it so the url becomes shorter when you resize the window too much?
Example go here http://ns223506.ovh.net/rozne/2b988df3c7942d7bd6693c60edeb8382/wallpaper-1786371.jpg
Try resizing the window (make it smaller) with and without the add on, or resize it and then focus the URL-bar (click or F6).
If you focus the url-bar the url shortens and the window resizes as it should, but it would be best if it could do this automatically.
Thanks a lot!
Hi,
Here is a rivised Romanian translation for LBE 5: http://ln4.me/oib8u
Because the previously sent files was saved as ASCII (plain text) the Romanian interface in Firefox is not correctly displayed. The new submitted files in zip archive are saved as Unicode and will be properly displayed. Install.rdf.txt contains the Romanian section of Install.rdf.
Could you replace, please, the old [ro] files in the next release of LBE? Also, could you replace Romanian section in install.rdf with the correct one from install.rdf.txt?
Thanks a lot!

The Location Bar Enhancer for Firefox sounds/looks just like the thing I am looking for; however, I am wondering if anyone has used it with 1Password by Agilebits and if so, have there been any problems reported. I ask because 1Passwordl's newest browser extension is a little buggy and I do not want to download and test anything that is going to create any more issues with my Mac; I have enough problems with Safari and Adobe's newest updates so the last thing I need is another compatibility issue. I'm anxious to download and use your product so I would be interested to know if there have been any compatibility issues reported between it, Firefox and 1Password. Memalyn
When using this extension on Firefox for Mac I noticed that the location bar becomes higher than its usual size (25px instead of the usual 20px, even more more when the statusbar text is showing up in the location bar), so it goes further the size of the forward navigation button. See these images for a screenshot:
http://imageshack.us/f/831/locationbardefaultmac.png/
http://imageshack.us/f/717/locationbarenhancermac.png/
http://imageshack.us/f/819/locationbarenhancerstat.png/
Another visual problem I experienced is that sometimes the location bar becomes gray despite I'm always using the Default Light theme. See screenshot here:
http://imageshack.us/f/822/locationbargraymac.png/
Looking at bootstrap.js I see that it does some checks regarding the OS, specifically in functions setupEnhancedURLBarUI (line 294) and setupStatusBar (line 2911), but it only checks whether the OS is linux or windows but not mac; I guess that in the latter case the top/bottom margins and padding for the location bar and status bar should be left to their original values.
I’d like to see the “x” and “y” position trimmed from the URL when displayed in this add on
Those are just the position of the mouse on the submit button and are not directories in 99.9% of cases.
I.e.
Thank you
Selvol
I'm not sure if there's anything on this end of the bug that you could do to fix it, however there is a bug that I have when I use this with InstantFox. When the browser first starts this one works fine, but once I use InstantFox's search in the address bar, it breaks the breadcrumbs; they still appear but I can't click on them, and the cursor appears as it would over text (and actually clicking in bar turns it into the normal url).
It is interesting, I've thought I had heard of people using both of these together, and I've tried every combination of settings on both addons that I could think of to see if it was just a bizarre configuration or something on my end.
The enhanced location bar does not seem to fully utilize the length of available space for long URLs. Instead I get arrows to scroll which may be unnecessary if there wasn't a length limit.
It would also be nice if when this happens the default view shows the head of the URL rather than the tail.
http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/4157/7367243d46094187a2ba14a.png
1] This URL refuses to generate any representation: http:/google.com/?q=ěščřžýáíé
2] The "replace gibberish with meaningful data" feature incorrectly transforms the page title "U Červených Domků" into "U Ervenych Domk" in the URL bar. Unfortunately, I don't have any public URL like this at hand.
3] Capitalization in the identity box for this domain is weird: http://newsletter.drogerie-vepa-praha.cz/
I wonder if I could ask for a small customization. I was trying to style my url bar to my liking and I'd like to customize the identity box a bit when it contains the domain (that is, when the first box with the domain is hidden). I wonder if you could add some kind of "isDomain" attribute to it in those cases or something to easily discriminate it using CSS.
Use -moz-image-region to change the displayed background.
This will improve speed and memory consumption
Style doesn't get applyed to the bar at browser start, that's how it look like right after browser restart:
http://joxi.ru/A7FcZr
Possible conflict with "Personal Titlebar" addon:
https://addons.mozilla.org/ru/firefox/addon/personal-titlebar/
I disabled it and restarted browser - style of bar were applyed as it should
First - I love the add-on. :)
However, I would like to point out that it doesn't play nice with Mozilla Labs' OneLiner. If both are enabled, the address bar appears simply blank.
Location Bar Enhancer 5.0
I cannot get option “Use the Identity Box (when empty)” to work as I expect.
I'm not sure about previous versions but my expectations are like on https://addons.cdn.mozilla.net/img/uploads/previews/full/64/64062.png?modified=1333952394 (left image). But I never see identity box instead. Enable/disable option change nothing visually.
The problem is that in long URLs domain is not shown at all and this case is most annoying.
In some cases, there is a "/" symbol after "?" symbol, and it does start a new breadcrumb level.
Unfortunately, it is hard to detect, and is currently not supported.
Example: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?92190-New-Memory-Tweaker-for-Intel-Chipsets/page2
I think adding an exception in this case would help, as this sort of formatting is quite widespread on forums.
For example we have | github.com > scrapmac > UIEnhancer > issues | in adressbar and I press RMB on "UIEnhacer" and select adress | github.com > scrapmac > User-Style-Manager | then if tab is not pinned, new adress will be loaded in current tab, but if tab is pinned then will be opened new tab for this adress. Generally when switching one-level adresses in pinned tab, then new tab is opened.
Since I installed Location Bar Enhancer I have experimented several hangs, all of them having in common that a small window had just been opened. I suppose that the issue arises when the location bar width is below some threshold.
Steps to reproduce:
Doing this, Firefox starts to eat up CPU and memory like there's no tomorrow. It looks like an infinite loop to me, but I haven't looked at the code.
When hovering any box, it's like it jumps one pixel to the left. I was trying to figure out why this was happening (at first I thought it was because of my own CSS sheet) but apparently the padding of the #UIEnhancer_URLBar_Stack_Arrow label changes from "2px 2px 1px" to "2px 1px 1px 2px" when hovering its box.
Here is the bug... i'm using https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ui-enhancer/ and i make my settings to show text instead of progress bar but sometimes the progress and the status when linkover get on the left side of the lacation bar instead of the right side and that way i can't see the current url. Here a screenshot:
http://img837.imageshack.us/img837/6646/42855830.png
Look at the url... i tryed reinstalling browser, disabling add-ons one by one... nothing work for me.The strange thing is that the "add Favorite" button is also moving along with the status and progress text.
I really hope this will be fixed in the future becouse this is the coolest add-on for ff i ever sew. This add-on make so mutch free space for the web-pages.. its just awesome :)
Eg. http://userscripts.org (a non https site) appears
while https://www.google.com (a basic verified/non EV https site) appears
Te problem is that the Firefox's Site Identity Button feature in the latter site appears smaller than the non https site.
I'd suggest that, for non https sites, your addon shouldn't show this "Site Identity"-similar button at all.
I mean that it should appear plain:
PS. For EV certified https sites, such as https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
your addon works ok, though
Assuming that Status-4-Evar is configured to display page loading status or link URL's in the Location Bar, when it tries to display anything, the normal location text can be seen over the UI Enhancer's breadcrumbs. I'm not sure which addon to blame for this though.
Remove Gibberish works great, however sometimes it shows something interesting: like this link http://habrahabr.ru/blogs/mozilla/138983/ (ye, this site is in Ru).
Also, please add indent, so that the text in location bar is not that close to Identity Bar.
Thanks for the great addon.
I absolutely love it!!!
I was looking forward some new version of Locationbar2
but, yours swept it away!!!
One issue:
in Tools>Addons
the Options button of your addon doesn't work:
when you press it, it just shows "Problem loa..."
In 3.8, when using the domain in the identity box, the domain stack isn't removed from the rest of the url. For example, I open google.com, the identity box gets the text "google.com" but the "google.com >" stack still stays there, so basically I have google.com twice.
Is this on purpose?
(Before I go on, I did read issue #3 with "OneLiner" and it appears to be the same. Though the "other" addon is the Mozilla Archive Format Addon and not "OneLiner" what ever that is, its the same issue)
Hello, I am writing in regards to a possible bug in your addon, as it relates to another. I am currently planning on writing them, as well, seeing it could be a bug in ther addon instead. I want to make it clear I am just trying to help spot issues and I am not "complaining" as I just discovered your addon (via a recent article on Ghack.net) and I love it.
After testing this on multiple computers and various versions of Firefox (9.01) ... Installed version and/or portable the addon that seems to trigger this (when UI Enhancer is also installed) is the Mozilla Archive Format (MAFF) addon ( http://maf.mozdev.org/ )
This issue that I have be able to replicate on all trials, is the Location Bar ("address bar", "Awsome Bar", ... whatever .. where you type the URL in Firefox) text disappears and I am able to see a small " < " in the right most part of the box to the left of the address bar (where you can click and find "privacy info", for a domain... its really part of the Location bar itself) ... I am not sure if that little arrow-looking graphic may give a clue to what is going on, but I figured, I'd mention it. Websites still load and everythingb is normal in that sense. If I "highlight" or "select" the Location Bar, the URL appears again, though when I un-select it, the text that should be there, is gone again.
I have a number of addons and every time i remove MAFF, Breadcrumbs from your addon return and "behave" normally again.
The only addon I can find that does this (where if its enabled the issue arrises, and if I remove it, the issue is not there anymore) is in fact the MAFF Addon,
I just want to thank you for the time and effort of not only reading this, but also for programming the addon in the first place. I hope that if this is a bug (no matter where the bug is), it can be resolved, as I am a big fan of both addons and Firefox is my primary browser of choice.
Thank you,
Xmetalfanx
when start firefox focus is on the urlbar. that's ok. but when i start typing non of the letters appear in the url bar. it's typing thats not the problem but i cant see what i just typed.
if i click somewhere else on firefox and then urlbar everything is ok. or open new tab everthing fine.
i use firefox 13 on win7 professional.
p.s. i clear form and download data very often via ccleaner.
here is a ss:

Was a bit occupied these days - could not answer, sry.
Yes, screen №4 is from another addon, but i think (as a feature request) this way is better - to see both status and URL in different placeholders.
Screen №6. A long URL does not take all the space in location bar.
Feature request Long URLs should be cropped in the middle - to see both the domain and the ending at the same time.
If you scroll a long URL, then the left Scroll Arrow is not dissabled (screen №7).
Feature request Clicking middle button on any part of a breadcrumb should behave like a simple link (by default open in a new tab).
About the 'y'. Just got what u mean. There is also such a letter that is a consonant, but in your casse should be regarded as a vowel - that is йЙ .
Gibberish removal behaves strangely on such sites like Youtube.
When I open an URL with login-password like http://login:password@domain then login and password are constantly shown in Identity Box. I expect it to be hidden as Firefox does without this extension.
This one is a bit hard to reproduce. When you right click on any segment or left click on any >, then click on a tab for example, the menu will disappear but the segment will stay selected. You have to click somewhere else so the segment is unselected and you can regain full functionality. It's not a critical bug but still a bit annoying sometimes.
Happens on Firefox 10 in Windows 7 64-bit if that matters, haven't tried in any other versions or systems.
Well, creating an issue as you've told me.
It's not you who does disk I/O operations - it's Firefox that has to read the extension files on every start. It makes ~72 such operations (instead of a single one) every time the browser starts to load your extension.
So that's why I request this.
Less I/O - the faster it loads and the healthier your hard drive remains.
Hi, scrapmac!
Cool add-on!
Romanian locale [ro] was tested and released.
However, there are 8 missing entities in optionwindow.dtd on WTS that make the translation incomplete and the add-on inoperable. They are:
identityBoxLeftClickChanged.label
identityBoxLeftClickChanged.accesskey
identityBoxLeftClickChanged.tooltip
selectStyleSheet.label
selectStyleSheet.tooltip
chooseStyle.label
chooseStyle.accesskey
chooseStyle.tooltip
Could you add these in WTS? Here is a completely localized version of optionwindow.dtd: http://www.babelzilla.org/forum/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=100003986
There is a code writing error in line 81 in option.xul. The initial ampersand "&" is missing for the entity „&customStyleSheet.tooltip;”.
Here is Romanian section of Install.rdf.

Location Bar Enhancer
Cătălin Zamfirescu (x10)
Thanks a lot!
When using the Omnibar Add On and the "Show search engine in urlbar" option is NOT checked then UI Enhancer cannot show the full path.
The only way to show it is to check the "Show search engine in urlbar" box in Omnibar options.
So far the location bar enhancer is a really nice/clean add on.
I was wondering how the siblings list is getting generated? is it from the browser history? Sometimes the list will be incomplete and when i navigate to a sibling not listed it will then appear on the list.
For instance :
http://www.reddit.com/r only lists some of the subreddits, then if i navigate to http://www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/ r > todayilearned will then appear.
Currently I can't distinguish through CSS between # anchors and other &some=value settings, they both have the isSetting and isAnchorTag set to true, and if I use the enhanced breadcrums system they both also have the same class.
I'd like to style them differently so I wonder if you could maybe in some way distinguish them.
Parts of URLs that contain non-latin characters appear as gibberish.
