I eventually found the tiny sliver of space in the top right of the menu that closes it, but I would really love there to be a 'normal' close button [x] there.

I'm not sure if this is a recent API issue or you are updating this addon at all still, but it would make it easier to use the addon without the addon bar visible and not having to hit Ctrl+M to close it.

Additionally, you could have Escape close the popup as well, like built in Firefox popups/menus.

After repositioning the panel by dragging and dropping and then hiding and showing it subsequently (Ctrl+M), with each showing/hiding action the panel slides horizontally towards the left side of the screen until it reaches the edge of the screen.

I can't stand links forcing a new window to open on left click (especially when that causes the sidebar to IRC I have open to duplicate), so I'd like middleclicking the IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, and Metacritic links for a movie to override that by opening them in a new tab in the existing window.
Interestingly on left click this extension ignores the about:config pref:
browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction
I set to 0 to force new windows into a new tab from webpages. Perhaps it could use that pref to determine how to open the links?

The positioning of the panel seems to be based on coordinates relative to the screen (rather than the browser window), which causes part of the panel in docked mode or at startup to be hidden under the Windows taskbar, when the taskbar is placed on the left side of the screen.

It would be great to have an option for having the panel starting off in the middle of the browser window and having it reposition to remain in the middle, when the size of the content changes! Cheers.

Please put style rules in chrome://../skin/.
This allows full themes to provide their own styling of the panel.
