three-meet's Issues

Urchin/Ragamuffin Knave speciality

Possible features:

  • The Old Slip Advantage hiding out from authorities (tied to heat rules?). Deception bonus to create diversion?
  • City Wise Advantage making checks where cities are involved.
  • Pickpocket Advantage on pickpocketing.

Fix: Animal Form too blatant

The Elementalist's Animal Form feature is too blatant: before everyone's eyes the character transforms into an animal.

Possible alternatives:

  1. The Elementalist merely shifts certain body parts.
    1. Under-powered: loses temporary-hit-points-like property of this feature.
  2. Elementalist takes control of an animal which appears Nearby.
    1. Requires Elementalist to zone out as he concentrates.
    2. Elementalist vulnerable.
  3. Animal companion.
    1. Loses interesting aspects of Elementalist.

Add: random details and allegiance hints to backgrounds

Playtest feedback:

Well I think I am struggling to come up with a decent background and allegience as I don't really have a good understanding of the overall lay of the land.

Suggest that maybe there are some standard backgrounds / allegiences in the guidebook - rather than examples, something more in-depth.

I'm thinking World of Darkness ish. Where you have the standard stuff and then you can adapt and tweak it.

Also maybe phrase the background as questions ie:

Who is your family, Where were you born, what is your profression? When was your first kiss? Who was your first love? Do you have any scars? Do you have any regrets? Have you ever rebelled/ been in trouble (at school, with the law, with your parents)? etc etc etc

Thinking some standard questions and then fill them in to get a good idea of your character.

I think some ppl like to do the micro details and can't quite nail the character

while others care more about the personality but leave a lot of gaps in the detail.

Seems like a good idea to add random tables for backgrounds to inspire character creation. And some guidelines or even rules for good allegiances.

Add rules for weapon creation

Instead of having static weapons, and make rules for generating weapons more balanced. Specific for each class.

For example, rather than be awarded a Dagger, you get a thrown weapon (which could be a dagger, or some other example of a thrown weapon).

Links not obvious

It is not obvious which text are hyperlinks, and which are highlighted terminology. Link style changes need to clearly differentiate between the two.

Fix: Cunning Action underpowered

The Cunning class feature Cunning Attack is triggered less frequently than the 5E Stealth Attack. Unless you take the Shadow archetype.

Either Cunning Attack needs to be buffed, or the other sub-class Cunning Action feature needs to be buffed.

Toggle button obscuring title text on mobile

The toggle button is obscuring some title text on mobile:

I think we could move the toggle button closer to the top-right corner while keeping the site aesthetically pleasing.

Add offensive Leader class feature/tactic

From playtest feedback for the Defender sub-class:

You possibly could look to affect the enemy but I'm not sure how - maybe they get afraid or something. The actions all affect the team but don't really have a direct impact on the enemy. Maybe higher levels?

We should add a fear/psychological based attack tactic at first level, and move the Wise Command tactic to second level.

Add: rule for devil's bargain

Add a rule for allowing characters to do certain stunts outside the rules, something like:

In certain circumstances, players may request to perform actions that aren't covered by the rules. In these cases the GM can rule that the action (or stunt) is allowed, but not without risk. They offer them a bargain: if the player makes a relevant Check, they perform the stunt. But, if they fail, some penalty is offered.

Add: tooltips for shorter definitions

Sometimes we don't always want to display a full page-preview or link to a term. We should display tooltip text instead.

Such text could be read from a glossary of terms.
