coventry-thesis's Introduction

A Coventry University Thesis LaTeX Template

I needed a LaTeX template to use in ShareLaTeX, now merged with Overleaf, when writing up my thesis. Since I couldn't find one for Coventry University I adapted an existing template. Being based in the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing (EEC) I used the Cambridge University Engineering Department (CUED) template as the starting point, though social science schools and faculties should find it applicable.

Ideas, suggestions and changes welcome.

Coventry University Engineering PhD Thesis Template

  • A LaTeX / XeLaTeX / LuaLaTeX thesis template for a Coventry University PhD.
  • Version 2020-12-24.
  • MIT License.

Author(s)

Differences from the CUED template.

  • Removed the Cambridge University crest, references and colleges options.
  • Added a Coventry University front page logo.
  • Replaced the copyrighted example images with public domain clip art from openclipart.org
  • Removed build files not required by ShareLaTeX Overleaf (can be obtained from the CUED template).
  • Added more tutorial text as an introduction to the template, how to use it and pointers to further help, especially for those new to LaTeX.

coventry-thesis's Issues

APA7

Hi, I wondered if you could advise how to allow for / integrate APA7 referencing within this template. As this is now the style recommended by CU.
Many thanks
Paul

documentclass 'chapter'

Hi @GR8DAN , Help need rather than an issue.

Thanks for creating this template, under documentclass you mention:

% 'chapter' : This option enables only the specified chapter and it's references
% Useful for review and corrections.

May i check:

If i run typeset against : \documentclass[a4paper,11pt,times,print,index,draft]{Classes/CUPhDThesis} - it works perfectly

If i run typeset against : \documentclass[a4paper,11pt,times,print,index,draft,chapter1]{Classes/CUPhDThesis} - i get all chapters as above.

If i run typeset against : \documentclass[a4paper,11pt,times,print,index,draft,chapter]{Classes/CUPhDThesis} - only chapter 3 shows

Am i missing anything?

Cheers
Paul
