Specific steps to reproduce:

  1. Start in online mode with no videos saved
  2. Go to https://web-dev-media.web.app/single-video/
  3. Click "make available offline" and wait for download to finish
  4. Go to settings and turn on "show offline content only"
  5. Return to https://web-dev-media.web.app/single-video/
  6. Refresh the page

Observed: Video is greyed out and can't be played.
Expected: Video can be played, because it has been downloaded.

Confirmed that the steps listed by @rkochman do create the bug.

However, note that:

  1. if user turns on "show offline content only" BUT goes to the Homepage , only the videos that were downloaded are highlighted (others are grey) as expected.
  2. Also, clicking the https://web-dev-media.web.app/single-video/ page from the Home page correctly shows that video is green (not greyed out).
  3. If user refreshes the Homepage, the downloaded video shows green as expected.

It's only when user refreshes the specific video page, that it goes grey.

Note: The browser history seems to disappear when this happens. So user cannot use back button any more when the bug is created.

So a simpler way to view this issue is: After turning on "show offline content only", if user refreshes a specific video page where video was downloaded for offline viewing, then the video turns grey, and browser history deleted.
