How was your experience with Golem JS Preview Program so far?

As a newbie to Golem, the experience was challenging but I enjoyed the whole process as I shattered through the blockers one by one. This is the second task I submitted after task 1, so it was definitely more challenging. But, I was prepared for it :D

Were the tasks easy to understand and did you enjoy solving them?

Yes, the tasks were easy to understand. I enjoyed it a lot but would have enjoyed it more with typescript.

How was your experience with a new Golem JS API?

The API seems comfortable to work with. The real challenge was to learn it. Once I knew how to do something, it became easy to use.

Do you have any general feedback about Golem? Is there something we could improve from your perspective?

Golem's concept is very impressive to me. I see it as the decentralized AWS in the future.

And that's it - thank you for your submission!

Our team will review and evaluate your feedback, then reward you with GLM reward for your future projects!

Hey! My name is Grzegorz and I'm working with the JS SDK Team at Golem Network.

I would like to let you know that we're actively working on new features and updates of the SDK. As part of these activities we renamed the library from yajsapi to @golem-sdk/golem-js.

How was your experience with Golem JS Preview Program so far?

I like exploring new technologies, and this was no different. I got to learn about the Golem network and many development tools and libraries around it that were fun working with.

Were the tasks easy to understand and did you enjoy solving them?

The tasks were understandable and I liked to solve these challenges. Their difficulty is right on point, not too tough to understand, and not too easy to solve.

How was your experience with a new Golem JS API?

The API needs a little more documentation in the handbook. I saw only one example covered using JS API and the reference section was also less informative. But, the SDK itself was easy to work with and seems decently robust.

Do you have any general feedback about Golem? Is there something we could improve from your perspective?

The first question that came to my mind is how it maintains the accuracy of computation done on the Provider side. This old Reddit post was able to help but I would like to find out if there are any more updates.

How was your experience with Golem JS Preview Program so far?

It's epic, I really enjoyed tinkering with the API and exploring it's various options in JS, i was a little anxious at first since the documentation was lacking but going forward it was fun after discovering what everything do and how the flow work

Were the tasks easy to understand and did you enjoy solving them?

Yes it was very easy to understand, I enjoyed the last half of it as I was unable to figure out the API at first

How was your experience with a new Golem JS API?

It's like a maze, proper guidance is required and a lot of examples and documentation to make the best use of it.
There were a lot of unexplainable errors using the core API, and I didn't figure out what each means nor I found it in the docs.

Do you have any general feedback about Golem? Is there something we could improve from your perspective?

Yes, some specific configurations and customization are required like setting a max and min offer amount, finding specific providers, like recurring providers and min time required to achieve the task

And that's it - thank you for your submission!

How was your experience with Golem JS Preview Program so far?

I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I am with the tremendous exposure and functionality that I have been fortunate enough to experience. It has truly exceeded my expectations and completely blown my mind. Coming from an industry that frequently grapples with limited resources, witnessing such a solution has left me in awe.

The potential impact that this solution could have on numerous fields is simply remarkable. If this solution were to be made commercially available, its effects would be far-reaching and transformative. It has the potential to revolutionize industries that have long struggled with insufficient resources and open up new possibilities for innovation and growth.

Were the tasks easy to understand and did you enjoy solving them?

Without a doubt, the ease of understanding the functionalities provided was one of the standout features for me. It was a pleasant surprise to find that most of the functionalities were intuitive and straightforward to grasp. Despite encountering challenges with the lack of proper documentation, I thoroughly enjoyed exploring and utilizing these features.

While proper documentation is undeniably important for comprehensive understanding and smooth implementation, it is a testament to the user-friendliness of the functionalities that I was able to navigate and make the most of them. It speaks volumes about the thoughtfulness and design behind the system, which made it accessible and enjoyable to work with.

How was your experience with a new Golem JS API?

Although I didn't have the opportunity to test the previous version, I must say that the new version is truly impressive. It offers a seamless experience with simplified coding and straightforward requirements, making it a joy to work with.

Do you have any general feedback about Golem? Is there something we could improve from your perspective?

Regarding the web solution challenge, I would have appreciated a direct method to access the API rather than implementing it as a script within the web page. It would be great to have something like fetch('golem-requester', with proper requirements).then(res)—a simple approach that can be used directly within an HTML file.

And that's it - thank you for your submission!

Our team will review and evaluate your feedback, then reward you with GLM reward for your future projects!

How was your experience with Golem JS Preview Program so far?

It was great, I learned a lot about the practical applications of blockchain other can crypto currencies and nfts. I was especially interested in how Golem uses blockchain as an execution environment. The developer docs are easy to understand and follow through but it is easy to get confused with the different docs sites available.

Were the tasks easy to understand and did you enjoy solving them?

Yeah, It was a great experience working on it, looking at new spins, and making the features a reality. Though with the API in the early stages with a few rough edges, I would say it was great. The instructions were very easy to understand and follow through.

How was your experience with a new Golem JS API?

The Golem JS API is great and working with it is a great candidate for server-side rendered web apps or client web apps with server actions for task execution. The API works great for web apps that have access to a server ie the scripts run on nodejs runtime not the browser runtime which is due to the following bugs,

Bug Screenshot Log files
bug in Account constructor where it fails to pass yagnaOptions down resulting in searching of app key in process.env and when a polyfill is provided the check fails. Screenshot from 2023-05-16 01-37-17 localhost-app_key.log
Gvmkit-build: Docker Exception is raised whenever there is a network activity for docker during build Screenshot from 2023-05-16 02-44-07 gvmkit-build.log

For my recommendation, the [TaskExecutor] API is a great choice, it is relatively simple and straightforward to use but the browser API is more flexible.

Do you have any general feedback about Golem? Is there something we could improve from your perspective?

Great technology that brings a new perspective and view to the use of blockchain especially when blockchain is mostly known for cryptocurrency. With the use of docker containers as an execution point, it can create a scalable platform for deploying Dapps

And that's it - thank you for your submission!

Our team will review and evaluate your feedback, then reward you with GLM reward for your future projects!

How was your experience with Golem JS Preview Program so far?

Overall, my experience with the Golem JS Preview Program has been positive.

Were the tasks easy to understand and did you enjoy solving them?

While the tasks have been engaging and enjoyable to solve, I have found that some of them were more complex than others, requiring additional research and experimentation to fully understand. However, I appreciate the challenge provided by these tasks, as they have allowed me to expand my knowledge of Golem and its capabilities.

How was your experience with a new Golem JS API?

In terms of the new Golem JS API, I have found it to be a bit challenging to work with at times. While I appreciate the improvements and enhancements made to the API, I think there is room for additional documentation and resources to help new users navigate the platform more easily.

Do you have any general feedback about Golem? Is there something we could improve from your perspective?

As for general feedback, I think Golem is a great platform, but there are a few areas where improvements could be made. Specifically, I think it would be beneficial to have more comprehensive and accessible documentation available, as well as more opportunities for community engagement and collaboration. Overall, I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in this program and look forward to continued involvement with Golem

And that's it - thank you for your submission!
