StratisEVM

This is a repository for the Ethereum-based Stratis Blockchain; StratisEVM.

  1. Clone Repo Recursively
git clone https://github.com/stratisproject/StratisEVM --recurse-submodules
  1. Build Binaries from Source (Optional)
wget https://go.dev/dl/go1.21.6.linux-amd64.tar.gz
rm -rf /usr/local/go && tar -C /usr/local -xzf go1.21.6.linux-amd64.tar.gz
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/go/bin
source $HOME/.profile
cd StratisEVM
apt install build-essential
apt install manpages-dev
make build-binaries
  1. Initalize GETH
make init-geth-testnet
  1. Run GETH (Execution Client)
make run-geth-testnet
  1. Run Beacon (Consensus Client)
make run-beacon-testnet

Older processors:

You may experience the following error message in some cases:

Caught SIGILL in blst_cgo_init, consult <blst>/bindings/go/README.md.
make: *** [Makefile:27: run-beacon-testnet] Error 132

Add the following to the end of ~/.bashrc:

export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/go/bin
export CGO_CFLAGS="-O -D__BLST_PORTABLE__"
export CGO_CFLAGS_ALLOW="-O -D__BLST_PORTABLE__"

Then reload .bashrc:

source $HOME/.bashrc

Now continue following the steps from #2 above.
