I got an amazing demo of Glue from Alyssa Goodman at Harvard DataFest this week and she mentioned that from Glue you can download data from Dataverse.

Describe the solution you'd like:

I haven't tried installing the plugin (or Glue itself, yet) but from looking at https://github.com/glue-viz/glue-dataverse/blob/5e98fb0d78cc17e8f2a1c4b990ebfe5bce8fd00a/glue_dataverse/data_importer.py I'm noticing a couple things I'd like to bring up.

Configurable URL for Dataverse installations.

The plugin seems to be is hard coded to Harvard Dataverse and couldn't easily be used by the other 51 installations of Dataverse. It would be nice if this could be configured.

FITS files only?

I noticed SUPPORTED_TYPES = ['application/fits'] in the importer but I don't know what this means. From playing around with Glue in Binder (and watching Alyssa's demo) it seems a wide variety of files are supported by Glue.

This week I spent time with Alyssa at @catherinezucker at Harvard Datafest 2020 and while I missed Catherine's talk, I was blown away by how Alyssa was able to use Glue as a open source alternative to Tableau, using the same data (data about hurricanes and tropical storms).
