The completion window flickers seriously, is there any way to alleviate it?

When using https://github.com/justinmk/vim-dirvish the / search is remapped to account for searching file paths

nnoremap <buffer> / /\ze[^/]*[/]\=$<Home>
nnoremap <buffer> ? ?\ze[^/]*[/]\=$<Home>

It seems to interfere with autosuggest.vim resulting in an error

E867: (NFA regexp) Unknown operator '\zk'

Hi, it's possible to add an option for this plugin to respect pumheight or to have the possibility to set pumheight ?
I have set pumheight=5 but it is taken into account only after I type <Tab>.
Search suggestions respect pumheight but cmdline suggestions not.

I have a couple of mapping that use a pattern of one command to display something with echo and another to choose an element from displayed ones. E. g.,

nnoremap <leader>b :buffers<cr>:buffer<space>

with autosuggest my echoed output is cleared as soon as I type one character.

I'm trying to change the search option alwayson to false. The only way I can make it work is to change your original code in the autoload directory. Can you please tell me how to do this in my .vimrc or in an "after" directory? The rest of my .vimrc is in legacy vimscript.
