gifford-lab.github.io's Issues

Front pages issue

  • Currently the three highlights on the front page have very different figure sizes and context length
  • The content of the three high lights needs to be discussed and determined.
  • Add more news into "News", such as the group photo for hiking on Blue Hills in Nov, 2015, so that the lower part of the front page, where the first three blogs will appear, won't have redundant information

Notes on remaining issues

Here are some things I noticed when I went over the site recently:

Team

  • "principal investigator", not "principle"
  • matt's email has a typo
  • should use tatsu's MIT email
  • should use nisha's MIT email
  • tatsu and jonas also have websites that can be linked to
  • should probably use jonas's MIT email, not CSAIL (for consistency)
  • missing grace and sharanya's pictures
  • haoyang's website link is broken (update: all links are broken? should double check)
  • matt's website has a typo (should be mdedwards.org)

Software

  • I would put "more software" instead of "more softwares"
  • ChIP-Seq and ChIP-seq capitalization is variable
  • I think we should add links to a few other tools that are in Github or Bitbucket (like cnn.csail.mit.edu, GERV, CCM, PIQ, Multipool, GERM, Fixseq, and Sprout), since everything on this list is quite old

Research

  • should we change the background image?

News

  • missing background image
  • why is everything in the "gene regulation" category? that's not completely true

Publications

  • should we change the background image?
  • the image for "Universal count correction for high-throughput sequencing" looks strange / messed up

Contact

  • should we add a background image?

Technical (for the future)

  • before we switch the DNS for cgs.csail.mit.edu, we'll have to move over static content on the current site (paper PDFs and old software)... it's not clear the best way to do that, but we can decide in the future
