specif-class-definitions's Issues

Separate or common version of the classes

In the next step, the SpecIF classes will be generated from the SpecIF vocabulary/ontology.

To decide:

  1. A term (and thus a resulting class) gets an individual next revision, when an update is made.
  2. All classes get an equal next revision = release tag, whenever a new set of classes is generated.

My preference is the first option.

@oalt : What do you think?

SpecIF Ontology with explicit and implicit dataTypes ?

Currently an automatic generation of the SpecIF class definition from the SpecIF Ontology is in development.

In a first revision the dataTypes are explicitly defined as terms in the Ontology, so that corresponding dataTypes can be generated. However from an information modeling point of view, there is little value in explicitly defining any dataType. Instead, the propertyClasses can be specified with all needed attributes and enumerated values so that the dataTypes can be generated implicitly. Then propertyValues can be related directly to their propertyClasses, which is much more intuitive than relating them to a dataType first and then relating the propertyClasses to that dataType.
