HEV-E Platform

Hazards, Exposures and Vulnerabilities Data Exploration Tool

HEV-E is a Data Exploration platform to promote the ability of a user to access, understand and use hazard, exposure and vulnerability data stored in its global geospatial data repository.

This is the result of a joint effort to share global datasets according to the schemas developed by the

hev-e's Issues

Searching by Country Brings Up Other Countries Datasets

This might be a bug, or it may be on propose, but when I search by country (i.e. Tanzania), I would expect that the datasets are filtered for that specific country. But there are exposure datasets for Malawi showing up?

It seems to be filtering based on the window extent rather than by country boundary.

spatial filter and point counts

After adding data to map and using spatial filter, the statistics in the graph window should reflect what is inside the spatial filter. I think it used to, but it no longer does.

downloading vulnerability functions

When downloading vulnerability function, on the download page the single file option should not be shown because it doesn't work (as far as I can tell).

adding layer to map

one can only add a data set to the map from the listing of all data sets. Once a data set has been selected, and the graph information displayed, one needs to go back to the display of all data and then remember which data set was originally selected.

Please make it so that a data set can be added (pinned) to the map from the graphics page (where you can select a data set for download).

Better Filtering Options

It would be great if there could be more filtering options. This is thinking in regards to the exposure datasets, but it might be applicable to the hazards and vulnerability as well.

Could the user filter for gridded rasters vs. individual vector features datasets, national vs. city level and dates. This might be a little harder to implement, since it would take a little analysis, but filter based on completeness of the dataset?

Just some initial thoughts.

shapefile download

It might be me, but when I downloaded the zanzibar layer I couldn't seem to make anything show. The spatial extents in the meta data were all nan

This applies to both the geopackage and the shapefile.

graphics page

Several points:

  1. Please make the graphics window smaller so more map is shown. Or, keep graphics window the same size and put filters to side of graph instead of on top.
  2. As a default when clicking on graphics page, have filters off
