Revamp the export plugins, offer Markdown export and Gnote memo export/integration, for archival purposes about gtg HOT 1 OPEN

Indeed we don't really have a long-term archival system like that, the app is for actionable tasks rather than for documentation/memos. For memos, personally I use .markdown files or GNote.

However, I understand the wish for a more streamlined one-click solution.

• Someone could write a Markdown format file export plugin (which I'd love to have, and it would be pretty close to GTG's syntax)
• The existing export plugin would probably need lots of love, too.
• GTG could integrate with Gnote; it used to have integration with Tomboy (a very long time ago), and Tomboy has been replaced by Gnote now. What you need to do is to resurrect the old unmaintained Tomboy plugin, modernize it, fix it all up for compatibility with GNote, and we could integrate it among the plugins shipped with GTG again.

I'll rename this and leave this open as a wish for anyone in the community to fix this (once we're done with the massive #737 issue / 0.7 release).
