We will require at least some modifications to build. I'm inclined to drop support for older versions, rather than try to CPP it, given how closely-related these libraries are.

We're currently generating a lot of deprecation warnings.

Upstream support has been removed, since it never really worked well. See haskell-fswatch/hfsnotify#103 and linked threads. Perhaps this library should implement its own debouncing support.

Whether this is worth it probably depends on whether it would just be a stopgap solution while waiting for an upstream implementation. There might actually be advantages (e.g. flexibility) to a Streamly-based solution.

I have implemented a sort of debouncer here and used it with streamly-fsnotify here. One option would be, rather than making any actual changes to this library, expanding groupByTime in to a more general streamly-debounce library.
