Vanilla Consolidate Buff-Frames (VCB)

What is VCB?

Vanilla Consolidate Buff-Frames (VCB) is a smart system to manage your auras. The AddOn provides a lot functions to customize it to your tastes and adds a lot of helpful functions for a better overview, which is its purpose in the first place anyway.

What are the advantages with VCB?

  • A better overview for your auras due to consolidation
  • Never reach the aura cap because of useless auras that you don't need anyway with the Banning-System
  • Each frame is movable, independently from each other
  • Display even potential buffs, either grayed out or/and as number on the icon
  • Display more than 16 buffs
  • Customize the frames to your personal tastes
  • Nearly everything is customizable

Installing Instructions

  • Download the AddOn here
  • Rename the unziped folder to "VCB"
  • Place the folder into your AddOn directory in your World of Warcraft folder
  • (If you had a previous version (<v2.5))
  • Go into your WTF/Account/ACCNAME/SavedVariables/
  • Delete VCB.lua and VCB.lua.bak
  • Go into your WTF/Account/ACCNAME/SERVER/CHARNAME/
  • Delete VCB.lua and VCB.lua.bak
  • Delete VCB_AutoUnbuffer.lua and VCB_AutoUnbuffer.lua.bak
  • Delete VCB_Buffframe.lua and VCB_Buffframe.lua.bak
  • Enjoy

- Had some issues with trying to move the frame, but realized later that i need to click to the left of the icon to move it. so make the icon the thing to click -- DONE   
- One major improvement could be to make it really like retail and have a counter that shows how many buffs out of how many possible buffs you have. -- DONE  
- Example: you add the buff "Power Word: Fortitude" along with the class "Priest", so whenever a priest is in your group, it will show 0/1 if the priest hasn't buffed stamina. -- DONE  
- the visual part with grayed out icons for missing buffs when you hover over the icon is probably a bit harder (or just annoying to code) so a simple list with "Missing Buffs" would work just as fine. -- DONE  

Common Issues

1. You have to bann/add buffs in the language of your client. If you ban an buff in english but you use an german client for example, it won't work.
2. I get an lua error after installing it, what should I do. You probably had an version before. I addded a lot of new variables that you need to reload therefore follow the instructions carefully!

[Suggestion] Sort by time remaining

Would be nice to have the buff that will expire soonest at the end of the list, rather than the current (I believe) max time of the buff. This way you only need to look at the last few for rebuffs, trinkets/cds will always be at the end, etc.

EBB can do this, maybe there is some useful code in there.

Synchronous Flash Function

Great work on the timing! :)

Small last edit and it should be perfect; the buffs and debuffs should flash ''in sync'' synchronously with one another.

Currently they all have separate flash timing dependent on when the buff is started meaning they all have their own separate 'flashing' timer.

TBH: if you wanted you could even add this as a separate function of it's own option (synchronous flash vs separate flash), as it is kinda neat. I'm just a purist :)

3rd picture: Invert order enabled - unlocked. Ice barrier looks like it have switched position correctly.

4th picture: Invert order enabled - locked. Once locked ice barrier no longer appears at position 1 but instead went to position 42.

When unlocked and invert order is enabled it looks like it is working as intended. When the frames get locked it reverts back to how it was with invert order disabled.

Buffs not showing when coming online

When logging into the game, the consolidated icon shows 0 buffs and the frames (both the consolidated and regular buff frames, I would assume the weapon and debuff frames as well) are empty until an update is forced (via reloadui, adding a buff, unlocking, etc).

I found the inverted buff order to be the cause of this.

Font Spacing

Is it possible to add a space for buffs so that the buff duration looks blizzlike?
For the spacing of (s) or (m) should look like "2 m" instead of "2m" (which is how it currently is).
I do not know where to adjust this in the code.

Font does not save

When setting the font to be different than default, relogging UI or closing WoW and reopening results in VCB returning to default text.

VCB UI/Font Issue?

Did you know VCB changes the overall font size of the game?

When I don't use the addon, then I see my fully fonts edges and chat looks amazing.
As soon as I enable VCB it makes everything a bit smaller, even in character (C) for the stats, gear etc.
Can you confirm this before I digging deep for problems on my end?

Macro stopped working after addon installation

My macro stopped working after the installation of this addon.
Even after the deinstallaion, it stil doesn't work.
What can I do to fix this?

Buff timer font changes are not saved.

Whenever I change the buff timer font and reloadui or restart game, the font resets to the default one and the settings are not saved.

[Request] Ability to change aura text location

Hello,

First of all, thank you for all your hard work for all of us to enjoy your addon, much appreciated 👍
My request is this:
Is there anyway you can let us choose the placement of the aura timer?
What I would love to do is use your buff frame on a left to right orientation (right above my char unit frame) and be able to place the aura timer on top (instead of bottom as is the only position we can put it right now)

"Change Color below 60's" Function Improper

When the Timer > "Change Color Below 60's" is checked--the color incorrectly briefly flashes the color for durations over 60's and then goes back to it's proper value.

Seems like the mod is doing color checks improperly. With each new buff it's checking every new buff as if it were a duration over 60's displaying that color; then after that showing the "change color below 60's.

Does this make sense?

Buff Times Not Showing

As the title states, I'm having an issue with VCB displaying time remaining for buffs and debuffs. It's only displaying an ellipsis in the stead of where the time should be. I've tried changing and toggling every timer setting and enabling/disabling "Show buff timers" in the interface options.

[suggestion] Buff Limit Warning

Would it be possible to add some sort of warning when your buff limit is being approached or display the count of buffs (example: 18/32)
