Steals focus if launched app restarts

If a launched app restarts for some reason (e.g. Steam updates itself), BertUI steals focus from the app and must be closed in order to continue to use the app.

This is due to the way BertUI monitors the launched process. Plan to add a background worker to monitor for the relaunch of an app within a short time to detect these relaunches and hide BertUI accordingly.

Suggestions

  • Option for disabling the Shut Down button.
  • The transparency between the icons becomes fixed in the sense that when the mouse cursor is in between two thumbnails, it does not switch the focus to the desktop or any window layered underneath BertUI.
  • Option to enable/disable a 'close' button (to close BertUI).
  • Activation by executable shortcuts (needed to give the 'maximize' command when the application opens

Thanks! After one whole year, I returned to this little piece of software.

Semi-Visible Instances

OS: Windows 7
Setup: Laptop --> HDMI --> HDTV

image

BertUI Instances: 1
CSV Lines of Code: 7
Icons Visible: 3/7

Textual Explanation: Top 4 icons are not completely visible. Have re-downloaded .zip and inserted .csv, same result.

End: I understand that the current download at your main site will soon be foresaken, however it is optimum for my intended usage. Any help is appreciated.

Buttons do not resize with window

If the screen resolution changes (for example when switching to a different output on an AV amp), the buttons do not re-scale to match, resulting in tiny buttons.

Will hook in to window's SizeChanged() event to re-scale when necessary.

Crashes when launched app runs for a long time (approx 1 hour)

BertUI is crashing if an app launched from it is left to run for a long time (roughly one hour). I believe this has to do with Process.WaitForExit() being a blocking function, so will break this out in to a loop to prevent the GUI from becoming unresponsive

On Windows 10, "BertUI has stopped working"

Immediately after launching, WIndows throws an error "BertUI has stopped working" and closes the program. It seems like it actually does work, because the tiles appear, but it's quickly killed by Windows.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help troubleshoot this issue. I'm not experienced with Windows development.
