Welcome to BennuGD2! BennuGD2 is a game development system focused on ease of use and portability.
Step 1: Build SDL_gpu
- Go to the
vendor
directory and run thesdl-gpu-patch-*.sh
scripts. - Then run
./build-sdl-gpu.sh
with appropriate options, for example:./build-sdl-gpu.sh linux clean
Step 2: Build BennuGD2
- Navigate to the project root and run
./build.sh
with suitable options:./build.sh linux clean
For Ubuntu, you may need to install the following packages:
sudo apt install binutils git cmake build-essential zlib1g-dev libsdl2-dev libglu1-mesa-dev libsdl2-image-dev libvlc-dev libsdl2-mixer-dev
For other distributions, you might need to install the equivalent packages:

Step 1: Install MSYS2
- Download the latest version of MSYS2 from the official website.
- Follow the installation instructions provided on the website for your specific operating system.
- Open the MSYS2 terminal to begin the installation of BennuGD2.
Step 2: Execute the Script
Copy and paste the provided script into your MSYS2 terminal. This script will install necessary dependencies and build BennuGD2.

This should successfully build BennuGD2 for Windows using MSYS2.
Add the following environment variables to your shell profile (e.g., .bashrc
