• Climate Data Online NOAA - An online portal that contains the collection of meteorological data from global weather stations.
• GISS Surface Temperature Analysis (v4) - Global station network data from NASA.
• SMHI - Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute provides detailed long-term monitoring data.
• Tarfala Research Station
  • Meteorological record of weather station at Tarfala Research Station, Stockholm University. Mass balance record of Storglaciären can be found at Bolin Center for Climate Research. The data was processed and used in my master thesis cold surface layer dynamics of Storglaciaren

• GLDAS NOAH
  • Global Land Data Assimilation System ingests satellite and ground-based observational data products (0.25 arc degree).
  • The data can be downloaded mannually or automatically by a tool.
  • Google Earth Engine also has access to the data. I have done a practice to convert the units and display the global monthly/annual precipitation and temperature.
• Sea Surface Temperature
  • Smith and Reynolds NCDC Level 4 Historical Reconstructed Sae Surface Temperature Monthly Data.
• WorldClim
  • Provides climatic variables at a global scale with a high spatial resolution (1km^2).
  • Also includes data of future spectrums by different earth system models and historical climatic features by different models and records.
  • This data is available in Google Earth Engine.

• Hurrican path
  • International Best Track Archive for Climate Stewardship (IBTrACS) gives us hurrican tracks in csv/netcdf/shapefile formats.

  • Published in 2018, a paper in Nature named "A global map of travel time to cities to access inequalities in accessibility in 2015" (DOI: 10.1038/nature25181), showed a map counting how long would it take, at any place on the earth, to the nearest city center.
  • This data is also availabe in Google Earth Engine.
