This is an M3U playlist for free TV channels around the World.

Either free locally (over the air):

Philosophy

The main goals for this playlist are listed below.

Quality over quantity

The less channels we support the better.

All channels should work well.
As much as possible channels should be in HD, not SD.
Only one URL per channel (no +1, no alternate feeds, no regional declinations)

Only free channels

If a channel is normally only available via commercial subscriptions it has nothing to do in this playlist. If on the other hand it is provided for free to everybody in a particular country, then it should be in this playlist.

No paid channels
Only channels which are officially provided for free (via DVB-S, DVB-T, analog, etc..)

Only mainstream channels

This is a playlist for everybody.

No adult channels
No channels dedicated to any particular religion
No channels dedicated to any particular political party
No channels made for a country and funded by a different country

Feed sources

It can be quite hard to find up to date URLs, here's a list of sources:

Youtube: As long as the channel is live and its URL doesn't change (check the age of the stream, the number of viewers..)
Dailymotion: Same criteria as for youtube

Format

The m3u8 playlist is generated by make_playlist.py, using the .md files located in lists.

Each .md file represesnts a group. The <h1> line is used as the group title.

Only channels which URL column starts with [>] are included in the playlist.

Channels which are not in HD are marked with an Ⓢ.

Channels which use GeoIP blocking are marked with a Ⓖ.

Channels which are live Youtube channels are marked with a Ⓨ.

Issues

Only create issues for bugs and feature requests.

Do not create issues to add/edit or to remove channels. If you want to add/edit/remove channels, create a pull request directly.

Pull Requests

Only modify .md files

If your Pull Request modifies channels, only modify .md files. Do not modify m3u8 files in your pull request.

Adding a new Channel

To add a new channel, make a Pull Request.

In your Pull Request you need to provide information to show that the channel is free.
Use imgur.com to host the channel logo and point to it.
If you have a valid stream, add it and put [>] in front of it.
If you don't have an stream for the channel, add [x]() in the url column and place your channel in the Invalid category.
If you have a stream but it doesn't work well, put the channel in the Invalid category and put [x] in front of the url.
If you're adding geoblocked URLs specify it in your PR and specify which country they're working in. The PR will only be merged if these URLs can be tested.

Removing a Channel

To remove a channel, make a Pull Request.

In your Pull Request you need to provide information to show that the channel is only available via a private paid subscription.

Note: Public taxes (whether national or regional, whether called TV License or not) do not constitute a private paid subscription.

If a stream is broken, simply move the channel to the invalid category and replace [>] with [x] in the url column.

Issue with Global Canada streams

There have been some issues with the streams for the Global channels (not Global news). They show 50 seconds then stop.

BBC One and most english channels are down.

Canada - seems nothing is working?

Not sure what exactly is wrong but it seems that most (all?) of the streams I checked for Canada are not working.

For example the first channel on the Canada.md list is CBC Toronto. which links to https://bozztv.com/teleyupp1/teleup-ydcl2V1MVC/playlist.m3u8 and it turns out this is a dead link as most of the others are also.

I am using VLC 3.0.16 as my client and importing the Playlist.m3u8 directly.

...A little later on I have found that a few of the Canada channels seems to be working. For instance Global News. Could it be that the providers for others have gone dark?

Am I missing something here?

Forwarders

I have a PHP script that sends request to a particular address, extracts the stream URL (that is dynamic) and forwards to it.
If i host it online, can I submit it here or is it not allowed?

Concrete example: live-source.js contains the stream URL.
The PHP script sends the request, extracts the URL and forwards to it.

Legality of the logos

Hey, I've been wondering: the streams are legal, yes, but what about the logos? Wouldn't it be better to link the logos from their official website and not to upload it from imgur? I am wondering if this is legal, actually. To submit all the logos, y'know.

La 1 (Spain)'s link doesn't seem to actually go to La 1

Hi, I'm using Free-TV's playlist with Hypnotix. Whenever I want to watch La 1, I click but the channel seems to be instead one called La Vall tv4 when the stream loads.

Add regional Dutch channels

Please add also the Dutch regional channels in the Netherlands.
Most streams are in HD, some in SD.
I don't know if the streams are geo-restricted, but the streams are tested and working well.

How to suggest channels?

I don't know how to suggest channels with pull requests. I can't seem to get it working. any other ways I can suggest them?

Hi There,

I can't resolve Antenna 3 with my setup, further inspection of the m3u provides this direct link:

But that can't be resolved by my player (connecting from the UK) or by browser (connecting from Spain)

Automatic checkers, playlist update

Hi Folks,

What do you think about to create automated CI workflow for updating playlist? I mean check the md file formats, check the created playlist before commit, and check the included links.

For example we could use:

Markdown linter
M3U linter
Check links
etc.

Statistics in the README?

Hey there,

Would it be possible to add a subsection about statistics? e. g. how many stations are
gathered, how many people may be using IPTV (just rough guesstimates) and so on,
anything that could be useful. I found this recently by a linuxmint announcement btw.

Hungary - M3 - Not working

The "M3" channel in the Hungary group is not working for the last several days.

Tried from a US IP address and also from a Hungary IP (through VPN).

Regarding Indian channels

Can you Please add these android app Live Indian TV feed in your application ..

There are more than 600+ TV channels in India. Hypnotix have only those channels which are already available on YouTube.
Like USA have multiple feeds in your software, there is a need of multiple feed from India.

Hi, I see you have update Italian channel but i think playlist from readme link isn't update with last change, I understood correctly? and if yes there is a way to automatic update the playlist on the link or you need to do manually with a commit (or maybe myself with a fork of the project?)

Uhh, so I would like your opinion.
I added Markíza, Doma and Dajto.
They only provide an SD stream for free and want you to pay for the HD stream.
Technically, this is not illegal as it is streamed off their servers.
Should the channels be removed / kept in SD?

Estonian channels are missing

I have to admit, that Estonian channels are missing. There were several channels (ETV, ETV2, ETV+, Riigikogu (Estonian Parliament), TV7), here is the prove:

Why these channels were made unavailable? That's a pity. Noticed, that many other countries were disappeared. What happened, can it be fixed? Looks like Estonian channels exist here. Although I made pull request with updated links. Other countries playlists can be found here. Using latest Linux Mint and with Cinnamon desktop.

SD Streams

For those of us with low bandwidth, please consider providing SD alternatives to HD streams (if available). Thank you.

Hungary - M1 News Channel no Longer Working

The "M1" news channel in the Hungary group is not working for the last few days.

Tried from a US IP address and also from a Hungary IP (through VPN).

i tried to watch them from hypnotix linux mint tv player, i get these errors:

Situation of the Russian Channels

I came here to inform that Russian Channels are not working. At least at this part of the world (Argentina). I think that it is due to the international sanctions due to the military conflict with Ukraine.

I recommend to pay attention to the incoming news about that.

Issues watching the BBC, Channel Four, Channel Five

I am new to GitHub so this may be the wrong place to put this, but I can't watch the channels listed above using VLC. How are you guys able to watch them?

Food Network (Italy) stopped working

I think Discovery has pulled an epic prank on us by taking down the Food Network streaming link and saying that it "changed frequencies". While that did happen on the DTT, it obviously didn't happen in streaming, and I think this is Discovery being Discovery and making Food Network's streaming link only available on Discovery+. Here's a screenshot of what the channel looks like right now:

The text translates to:
"Food Network has changed frequencies. To continue watching it, retune your television from your remote's menu. (?)"
This is probably never going to be fixed, since you simply cannot extract an HLS stream from Discovery+ easily. You would have to make an API for that. And while the "WorldLiveTV" team have already done that for K2 and Frisbee, they haven't done it yet for Food Network. Anyways, that's it. Just wanted to let everyone know about this.
