Hi there 👋

I am mainly working on several IoT projects, which are mostly related to the ioBroker project. Most of the time I am working on the heart of this modular system, the js-controller.

Working on the controller gives me the ability to improve the stability as well as adding features to the system of every ioBroker user. Additonally, we try to make the life of every adapter developer easier with every commit. Furthermore, I am devloping a bunch of adapters, which either support us in development related tasks, like benchmarking changes in the controller or give the ability to connect devices, like all kind of HomeMatic devices, AV Receivers or to even manage shopping lists. Additionally, I am developing libraries which can be used by other smart home developers too. 🧰

Professionally, I am a PhD student in the field of machine learning, more specifically stream analysis. Here I also try to share the newly created knowledge during my reasearch. 📰

As a compensation to all the coding I do lots of sport in form of Powerlifting and Luta Livre. 🤼‍♂️

Please add your adapter to ioBroker.discovery

I am an automatic service from ioBroker that searches adapters and makes suggestions.

I noticed that your adapter is not integrated in the ioBroker.discovery. Using the Discovery adapter, ioBroker can automatically find devices or suggest services to the user for installation. If possible I would live to see your adapter added there.

Some adapters have already been added and you can use them as blueprints. See: https://github.com/ioBroker/ioBroker.discovery You need to fork this project and then create a PR for your adapter to be added.

Basically the plugins can do HTTP calls, UDP discovery, MDNS, UPNP and will iterate over all devices found by IP scan and check local serial ports. If you want you can also add new discovery methods but please try to do that with at least dependencies as possible.

Then create one file under lib/adapters for your adapter to implement the detection and proposal of an instance to the user.

On questions, the other developers will support in the forum or via GitHub issues too.

If no detection is possible, simply close this issue and I won't bother you again. ;-)

Adapter läuft nicht unter Node 10

Hallo,

ich habe den Adapter am Samstag installiert. Alles lief ohne Probleme und super. Heute Update auf NodsJS 10 und ich bekomme keine Verbindung mehr, weil die LiveID nicht gefunden werden könne (Log im Anhang). Gibt es hier eine Lösung?

Compatibility check and testing for Node.js 14 and 16

Dear Adapter developer,

Node.js 14 is now available for a year and Node.js 16 was release just some days ago and will become LTS by October 2021. We plan to update the ioBroker Node.js recommendation (currently 12.x) to 14.x later this year.

Please check your adapter with Node.js 14 especially, and ideally also directly with Node.js 16

Please add both versions to the adapter testing which is executed on commits.

If your adapter requires a certain minimum version of Node.js please set the 'engine' setting in package.json accordingly! Please also do this if the adapter is not able to work in certain Node.js versions, so that ioBroker can prevent users from installing te adapter if not compatible!

XBox live auth not working on raspberry

Hi,

I could not log into my live account from a raspberry. If logged into my raspberry from my web browser on http://raspberrypi. If I click the "Authentication inactive, activate here!" link, I can grant access to the node server on xbox live. But as long as "localhost" is configured for the oauth return, it's not working. I can not change the return url, as long as it is configured in your app settings on live, because of security reasons. Can you maybe add a second auth url, like localhostdummy? Because then i can set localhostdummy in my hosts file and set it also to the raspberry.

[Feature Request] Add state to get currently active application and user

I would like to see an endpoint for each the currently active user and the currently active application (like YouTube, Forza Horizon 4, ...).
For the active user either the username or the email address would be absolutely enough.
maybe you can combine the "launch application" state with the "currently active application" state but I don't mind if it will not be merged into one.

Compatibility check to js-controller 3.3 and Admin5 React UI

with js-controller 3.2 and js-controller 3.3 some additional checks were added to make sure that created objects match to the specifications and also written state values match to the object definition.

If something is not correct this is logged as 'warning' or 'info' log.

Please take the time to verify your adapter by ideally starting with a fresh instance and do some actions and verify the log. If you see a warn log there from these checks please adjust the adapter and fix the relevant cases.

Additionally we are preparing Admin 5 which will have a completely rewritten UI. Please install Admin 5, activate that new UI and verify that the configuration of you adapter works as expected also there.

This is after I shut my XBox down. It does not appear when the box is alive.
I entered my LiveID in the settings. Works fine - maybe I misunderstood something?

Hi,

the new js-controller 2.0 will come into latest repository in the next days and we want to make sure that all adapters are working well. We already did a 2 weeks Beta test and so some adapter were aleady checked and some needed slight adjustments.

You can find more information in ioBroker/ioBroker.js-controller#482 and in the ioBroker Forum. If you have more technical questions please write in the referenced issue or in the Developer thread please. General questions are best in the genral thread.

Please update your systems to js-controller 2.0 and check your adapter.

Xbox Adapter Issue with REST server

I installed the xbox adapter via ioBroker exactly as described in GitHub All requirements have been checked.

  1. Python version is 3.7.3
  2. Linux additional packages are available
  3. XBox is in instant power-on mode

Instance traffic light says "yellow":
Connected to host: true
Sign of life: true
Connected to xbox: false

So I took a close look at the log. First error message was "Failed starting REST server: /bin/sh: 1: /opt/iobroker/node_modules/iobroker.xbox/lib/../node_modules/nopy/src/nopy.js: not found /usr/lib/python3".

directory opened and in /opt/iobroker/node_modules/iobroker.xbox/ there was no "node_modules/nopy" etc. but "nopy" was directly under /opt/iobroker/node_modules/nopy like in an issue from 2018 out of the archive.

So I read the comment from foxriver and dragged a folder link ("/opt/iobroker/node_modules/") to /opt/iobroker/node_modules/iobroker.xbox/". Bug fixed. But now another one appears unfortunally:

"Failed starting REST server: /usr/lib/python3.7/importlib/_bootstrap.py:219: RuntimeWarning: greenlet.greenlet size changed, may indicate binary incompatibility. Expected 72 from C head".

I used the Xbox Live Device-ID from the Xbox system settings. I repeatedly got the following entries in the log:

I can use curl on the raspberry to auth the user.

XBox Live Auth still broken

Describe the bug
After clicking on "Authentication inactive, activate here!" the login OAuth process is triggered.
The callback from Microsoft goes to:
http://localhost:5557/auth/callback?code=XXXXX

Of cause nobody is listening there. I tried to change localhost with the IP of IOBroker - but here nothing is listening to that endpoint.
