gma-village's Issues

North Oakland first choice

On Gma Edit profile page and Parent Edit profile page, can we move North Oakland to be the first option?

Password protect

  • Will this app be on the password protected page on the Gma’s tab of the squarespace website? Will it be easy to navigate back and forth between the app and the Gma Village website?

Look & Feel Updates

Look & Feel:

  • Can the call button be orange (our Gma Village orange)?
  • Font Size: I like the font size used in the first square of the profiles. Can we make the other parts of the profile match that for consistency?
  • Font style: Can the name be in a different font style? Archer is the font from our style guide that I would use but I understand this is not a common font that would load on most people’s computers but how about Georgia? Georgia is available in google docs which makes me thing it’s common enough. It is similar enough to Archer. (edited)

Allow Inactive Gmas to be visible to Admins

I tested creating a Gma Profile as an admin. The picture I uploaded which was a simple jpg did not load. I then made the profile not active and was not able to find it again to edit or make active. Because I am already logged in as a parent, I was not able to login as a gma and test the Gma UX.

'Willing to Travel' rules

Filter: I was testing different scenarios on the filter and realized that if the care is to happen at the provider’s home it should not allow you to also select the option “willing to travel”. If the care is at the provider’s home the provider won’t be traveling. So when a parent is posting and they select at the provider’s home, the text should not go to those providers who are willing to travel. It should only go to those willing to travel if the care is elsewhere.

Change intro text

Intro text:
Instead of “Find Gmas (select all that apply)” I think we need some intro text:

Welcome! We look forward to connecting you to our community of Gma’s.
Please select all that apply below to find a Gma that matches your needs.

Title:
Find Gmas that: (edited)

Tips & Tricks Parents Page

Initially I was hoping that after a parent submits it would take them to a page with some tips/instructions of what to expect next. It is on slide 6 of google doc. Is this something we could do?

Navigation

  • On a gma’s profile page, can we put a back arrow over the flags. Something that will allow a parent to go back to the previous page with all the gma’s that came up after filtering.

Filter updates

Filter:

  • The filter needs to be more self explanatory. Here are some suggested language changes:
  • Instead of Neighborhood - Live in:
  • Instead of Childrens Ages - Care for kids ages:
  • Can we add one more category in this section named: include Gma’s willing to travel to provide care. Parent’s can choose to select this option or not.
  • Instead of Care Location - Can provide care at:
  • Instead of Availability - Are generally available:
  • Can we remove the all or none options? I want parents to think through their choices and somehow that feels like a shortcut that would encouraging them to not think it through as much.

Gma Profile Updates

Changes to Gma Profile

  • Instead of Neighborhood - I live in:
  • Add another line here below I live in that says: I’m willing to travel to provide care
  • In the sections: I would describe myself as & I enjoy caring for kids & Something else I’d like to share
Can we add : after the question.
Can the question and answer be in the same line?
Can both the question and the answer be the same font size but keep question in bold?
  • Can we remove the : after Experience? (edited)

Update Squarespace menu link

Navigating tool on squarespace should say Members instead of Gmas don’t you think? Since now both parents and Gmas can access their profiles and edit them.

Profile Input experience

  • Can we look at the form or page where a user would input the profile info?
  • How does one create a profile?
  • When creating their profile, most grandmas won’t put Gma in front of their name, can we set it up so that this happens automatically? (edited)

Wish List

Remaining developments on wish list if possible:

  • Basic analytics (see who has logged in, who is posting a care need)
  • Parent Profiles beyond basic info. Current Parent Profile for reference. I would transfer all the info.
  • Parent Profiles viewable like Gma Profiles but without contact info. We would want Gmas to be able to see them and other parents could see them too
  • Support for event care users

Elsewhere Notification

On Elsewhere options everywhere (parent post & profile pages) we need to add a learn more option where it explains: Gma Village supports parents and Grandms in connecting for care that takes place at the provider’s home and out in the community (Libraries, Zoo’s, Parks, Museums, etc). Please note the care happens at the child’s home, grandmas are automatically considered domestic workers and are bound by all labor and tax laws including minimum wage laws. Parents would be responsible for paying grandmas minimum wage and complying with all laws.

style updates

  • In Gmas page make Availability and Neighborhood San Serif, bold, center justified and the same size of the text the follows.
  • In Gmas profile page, make all text san serif except the Gma xxxxx header.

Care Post Success Message

In parent post, when you hit sumbit, can we change the language on the Success message to say: Thank you for posting! Gmas that meet you child care need criteria will receive you post and will text you if available.

SMS Times incorrect?

Note: In tests, the time that is posted is not what is being texted. For example I posted a care need from 6-8pm and the text said 2am-4am.

SMS Text Changes

Texting feature: Ways to strip down the message: Let’s remove all the triangles in the message. It can just say Gma Village Parent Leteena needs care (instead of child care) for 2 kids (round ages down) in East Oakland on Jan 22nd, 2pm-4pm. Text 510-282-3342 (Can we add - to the phone numbers?) to set up interview.

Match navigation to squarespace nav

  • The Home and Gmas tabs at the top are confusing. Do we need these? What was their intended use and how are they different from one another?
  • Perhaps that is what the tabs at the top should be for. Perhaps they replicate the tabs on the square space website and link to those respective tabs on the square space website. (edited)

Make Full Screen on Smaller Resolutions

When we did the demo using a BANANAS computer for our meeting, the Gmas profile page and filter were not occupying all the webpage. Only three quarters of the page was being used which inturn made the filter look squished and you could only view one or two grandmas at a time. This was using chrome on a PC. (see attached pics) I then tried it on internet explorer on the same PC but the page wouldn’t even load.
