Something is clearly wrong here; gswin32c is the name of the GS binary on 
Windows.  

As an editorial: In addition, I ran into the same problems reported as defects 
in Issues #2 and #3, in that I had to manually tweak goo/gfile.h with my own 
#include <sys/dir.h>, and had to tweak splash/Makefile to override the default 
hard-coded /usr/local/include cflag.  The build completed with a LOT of 
deprecation notices, eg. "pdf2image.cc:122:72: warning: deprecated conversion 
from string constant to ‘char*". It would be very nice if the source version 
of this package was distributed with `configure' support and, additionally, if 
binary packages (debs, rpms, msi) were made available for the major target 
platforms (Debian/Ubuntu, Redhat/CentOS, Windows).

I;m actually working on a ios app, it pulls pdf texts via json api, and giving 
it valid jsons would be of great help, say

Hi, I'm running pdf2image.exe via C# code

I see that process creates another named gswin32.exe. Sometimes I need to kill 
the pdf2image process which works, but also I need to kill the gswin32 process 
but pdf2image doesn't give the posibility to get the gswin32 Process ID which 
it creates.

I cannot just kill all process with 'gswin32' name, because sometimes I create 
many pdf2image processes at one time, so I must know which gswin32 process 
belongs to which pdf2image process.

Any help ?

On OS X 10.6.8 I'm adding the freetype path to LDFLAGS before running 
configure: -L/usr/X11/lib

But the generated Makefile in src ignores this, and fails to link because it 
can't find the freetype lib in the path above.
