camel case column names in PostgresSQL

I am in the process of using DatabaseKit as the store for Core Data.
All my Core Data properties are named in camel case ("userName" instead of "username").

The problem is that the dictionary I get back from DBQuery has all the keys (column names) in lower case. This way I cannot match the keys with the Core Data attributes. I have tried to create the columns in camel case like "CREATE TABLE TEST ("userName" text, ...)" but then the select and insert commands will fail as it cannot find the "username" column (the columns in the select/insert statements are not quoted).

The only workaround is to name the Core Data attributes in lower case which makes my eyes bleed.
