finicky-whiskers's Issues

Upgrade to latest Spin SDK

As we continue to showcase this application at conferences as a demo, it would be nice to update Finicky Whiskers to use the latest Spin SDK as it is currently it is on Spin v0.4. Would be great to get this in for Wasm I/O in case people we talk to go to look at the code but priority on this seems low. Adding this issue to track the work, I'll probably take a stab at it on a Friday.

How to build/deploy with Spin?

I'd like to build and deploy this site to my local Hippo and Bindle instances, but unsure on how to do so. I believe I can build successfully, but deploy fails as follows:

$ spin --version
spin 0.2.0 (0561d08 2022-06-09)

$ spin build
Successfully ran the build command for the Spin components.

$ spin deploy
Error: Failed to expand 'spin.toml' to a bindle

Caused by:
    0: Failed to convert components to Bindle format
    1: Failed to get parcel id for '/Users/vdice/go/src/github.com/fermyon/finicky-whiskers/session/ruby.wasm'
    2: No such file or directory (os error 2)

Ghost beef

After the game ends, a piece of ghostly beef floats over Slats’ collar, bobbing gently up and down. It’s really quite unnerving.

You can see this on Butcher’s original internal video on Slack too.

Overlapping in portrait orientation

I can’t get it to paste a screenshot. But please try it on tablet or phone in portrait - Slats’ head overlaps the buttons.

May be too faffy to fix but thinking people at conferences are likely to be on phones.
