Currently, the export util can export all collections, single sub-collections, and single documents. This does not account for data structures that contain nested sub-collections. If one tries to export a document or collection that contains a sub-collection, that sub-collection and its children (if any) are simply exported as an empty object.

Given a single document that has previously been exported with the export util, provided a document reference path, the import util should be able to import the document to the given path.

A proper merge strategy should be well defined to allow for an exported document to be imported back into a given collection or sub-collection. This could be initially a simple replace, but a data structure that defines exported sub-collections should then be imported back into the db as sub-collections and not simple object types.
