litedbviewer's Introduction

Icon LiteDB Viewer

LiteDB v5 contains an internal database browser and editor named LiteDB Studio.

Therefore, this project will not continue into version 5 of LiteDB and if you need a viewer for your database please consider using LiteDB Studio.

At the time of writing this statement, LiteDB 5 is still in pre-release and LiteDB Studio won't open files created by LiteDB v4 or earlier; so this tool can be used for database files created by those versions.

LiteDB Viewer is a simple tool that let you open a LiteDB database file and view its contents.

litedbviewer's Issues

Password field is plain text

Just like the title says.

When a database is opened, a password is asked. The textbox that is used to insert the password is showing the inserted password in plain text. See also the attached image.

LiteDB Password

LiteDB 4.0 support

After updating LiteDB to 4.0 it appears the viewer is no longer able to read the files.

DateTime formatting

Date in viewer is shown incorrectly:

Currently it's like 2017-08-Wed 15:54:06:888 and Wed doesn't tell the day of month

Refresh data

This is a very useful tool. 👍

It would be cool, if I could refresh the current data without closing and reopen the viewer.

Wish: macOS/Linux version

Hi everyone,

This is a big one, but if anyone is wondering if someone would use that tool on macOS: Yes, here 🖐️.

We are using LiteDB in a couple of our Xamarin apps, which are developed completely on macOS. So for now we only have the option to run a Windows VM to use the tool.

(I thought about porting it myself, but it's too time-consuming right now.)

Cheers

Thomas

Decimal and accented text

Hello,
I use your great product and have encountered several problems:

 1. The decimal type is displayed throughout the application as "$ numberDecimal": "545,900". Would be possible to display see only the number?
 2. The accented text appears encoded in the Result. E.g. "Obálka C5 samolepící 1000 ks/bal.". In View String it's okay.

Thank you

... is not a LiteDB database (v2.0.0-rc2)

Installed via Release "LiteDB Viewer v1.1 - Setup" setup.exe
Ran LiteDB Viewer
Selected my .db file (which was created using LiteDB v2.0.0-rc2)
Got an error box with message "... is not a LiteDB database"
Where ... is the path to my .db file

I'm assuming it has something to do with it db being created using v2.0.0-rc2.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help!

Viewer Documentation

There is no mention which kind of query language is usable with this viewer.
Except for the default "limit x" there are no Query Statements documented.

I would really appreciate at least a link to a usable documentation.

Uninstall?

It seems there is no way to uninstall
