The debug output could readily be improved for readability. At least, as far as Nock is readable. The relationship between antecedent, applied rule, and resulting expansion(s) needs to be more clear.
We could really use a parser to parse the style of Nock used in the examples on urbit.org. This could then be turned into an interactive Nock prompt.
I'd suggest making wut, tis, lus, fas and tar into _wut, _tis, _lus, _fas and _tar, alias nock() to _tar and only expose nock (and debug)
I have no idea what lines 31 and 32 are doing, and CY gives no example input/output in Ch. 2. Someone who does understand could write doctests for these in tar.__doc__
