Also, I think the default $db_host parameter could better be FQDN rather than 'localhost', as I received the following error:
Oct 20 01:25:36 puppet puppet-master[14819]: Could not retrieve facts for puppet.local: Failed to find facts from PuppetDB at localhost:8081: Server hostname 'localhost' did not match server certificate; expected one of puppet.local, DNS:puppet, DNS:puppet.local
