See the work for Vega v2 that includes declarative interaction, a way to abstract events. The email discussion would be a place to ask any questions as well.
For now we can do wrap it in Cedar, but as v2 matures we should consider how to integrate with that model.

well - we could keep cedar simpler and still return the whole vega/d3 ball-o-wax - just filter so we only return things related to data vs "someone clicked on the yaxis
