Issues

Since the game uses 30/60hz materials for certain things, some elements might be broken during previously capped sections such as character faces or eyes.

While all fatal blows, fatalities and intros will run at 60 fps, their animations seem to be recorded at 30 fps without interpolation. This was also the case with some MK11 animations (Scorpion's fire turbine intro is 30 fps for example).

60 FPS might be implemented properly by QLOC/NRS in the near future, enjoy for now.

Download

60 FPS patch was tested only with the latest Steam version!

You can download binary files from Releases page. Extract mk160fps.zip to MK12\Binaries\Win64 folder of Mortal Kombat 1 (so that dsound.dll and dsound.ini ends up near SDL2.dll).

If you are not sure how to find your Mortal Kombat 1 folder, search for it in your Steam library then right click on the entry and select Manage->Browse local files.

To enable 60 FPS patch only for invasions open up dinput.ini and set InvasionsOnly to true.

mk160fpspatch's Issues

How do I uninstall this?

I tried out the mod, cannot deal with the face bugs and audio issues. How do I get rid of it? I tried verifying game files and reinstalling the game. What would work?

Edit: I'm good now

Setting InvasionsOnly=true causes the game to crash on launch. Version 1.1.1

I'm using the latest steam build of the game, listed as version 12711744 on steamdb, and 0.156-663440 in-game.

The mod functions properly when InvasionsOnly is set to false.

Steps to recreate issue:

  1. Place the dsound.dll and dsound.ini file into the steam directory here: C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Mortal Kombat 1\MK12\Binaries\Win64
  2. Open dsound.ini, and change InvasionsOnly=false into InvasionsOnly=true.
  3. Attempt launching the game through Steam.

Character Models, Clipping, and Audio Issues

While on character select screen, some character models have rigging issues (character faces will not sit flush where they belong but will be stretched out). -- This is specifically noticeable for Kitana, Sindel, Kenshi, Nitara, Reiko, Baraka.

Causes clipping on some textures (such as on Subzero's, Scorpions, and Reptiles masks)

During fatalities/fatal blows the audio has some consistency issues (when the character screams, it sounds gargled and strange).

Other than these bugs its amazing seeing these fatalities and final blows in 60 FPS

Will deal with the bugs until NRS decides to unlock the framecap natively.

Thanks for this awesome little mod :)

Game crash

After fight in Invasions mode, game crashing. Nothing can found on Event log win
