opendeckstream's Issues

OpenDeckStream causes the Steam Client(?) to crash when connecting with Steam Link

ODS-test.mp4

I've been having this issue for a while now but wasn't sure what was causing it until I uninstalled ODS. This issue happens on both the Stable and Preview channels for me, and the crash happens as it connects just before the video starts streaming (you can even hear the Steam notification sound play twice in the video from both Steam Link and the capture card). I have no recording running and the replay buffer is disabled. I've tried multiple reinstalls to no avail, Steam Link only works when ODS is uninstalled.

I'm not sure where exactly to look when it comes to logs generated by Steam, so if you could point me in the right direction then that'd be great.

Also want to make it clear that it happens even without an external display connected, the capture card was just a bit more convenient for the demonstration.

ODS Logo Suggestion/Proposal

This Decky project I'd like to see fully realised, so I made a quick logo for it.

ODS_Logo.zip

ZIP contains the SVG and PNG. Made in and using Inkscape.

If you have questions, suggestions, or proposed changes of your own to the current design, I'd love to hear them.

Intentionally didn't put in the text yet.

Issue building

Hi, I'm trying to build this plugin to get it working with Bazzite OS but on compilation of OBS I get the following issue

52.01 Could NOT find PipeWire: (Required is at least version "0.3.33") (found
52.01 /usr/lib/libpipewire-0.3.so)

any ideas on how this might be solved? Or if not, do you have a copy of the build libraries you could push that I could try with?

Deck OLED Colors way off & quality issues

Not sure if it's purely an OLED Deck issue, but no matter the game, colors of the recording appear much darker and burnt compared to what's actually on-screen and screenshots

Bitrate also seems to be on the lower side, ending up in not so useful recordings

Are these issues known and is there anything I can do to remedy it?
