@CooneMTB , Let's discuss bit on the best way to handle this.

At what point do you envision this step happening ?

  1. Cloning, that would be out of scope for dbt macro, but I haven't tested on how masking policies behave when cloned.

  2. When running the models in development, potentially can do few actions to make sure if there is a masking policy defined but not getting applied force the run to fail

Also looking for this feature, would prefer option 2. A pre-hook could check which policies are required for a particular model and fail if those policies haven't been created.
