objects in the scene are very haphazardly thrown together. the room file format is at the core of this. the room file should, instead of describing a tile layout in layers, should describe the tile layout of objects/actors in the scene, as well as their associated colliders, and possibly any interaction they might have. in this way, everything in the room becomes an actor.
