It would be nice to be able to tweak the sort name metadata for non-steam games so that they appear in the desired order in collections.
As an example, the Harry Potter games are organised in alphabetical order, instead of the proper release order.
The plugin stop working after some Steam Client and Decky Loader updates ( it even doesn't appear on the shop page). Please update it!
Hi, I've used MetaDeck and I was enjoying its use.
However, after a while, I noticed there an issue when running my non-Steam games.
There was not a time recording. It did not register my time on the different games.
I've tried reinstalling a couple of times if it could fix it. I didn't see any changes.
Can you help me ?
Best regards
I just installed Meta Deck thinking this issue was resolved since this issue has been ongoing even before being delisted from the plug-in store. It's still not calculating playtime on Non Steam Games, is there something I'm missing here?
Expected Behaviour
If I start for example Mario Kart 8 the Profile in Powertools should switch to Mario Kart 8 and apply/remember my configs. If I close Mario Kart 8 the Profile should go back to Main.
Actual Behaviour
When I start for example Mario Kart 8 the Profile in Powertools does stay on Main. It won't apply/remember any of my configs.
People found that it turns out that the issue had nothing to do with Powertools, it came from MetaDeck. I just uninstalled it and restarted Steam. Now everything works well again.
Please, check the following link that describes the issue:

Hey, I've noticed that this issue happens with this plugin: if you suspend your non-Steam game, it will still count the time as if you were playing. I assume this isn't trivial to implement, but in order to mimic what the Deck does for Steam games natively, this should be integrated.
My (uninformed) suggestion would be, if possible, to save a local timestamp of when the Deck was put to sleep, and later, have another timestamp of when it was awakened/powered on again. Then, calculate the elapsed time between the two timestamps and subtract it from the total time played (?)
Anyway, here are the steps to reproduce the issue:
Start a non-Steam game, let it play for few seconds to reach the menu for easy quitting.
Suspend the unit for however much time
Wake up the unit, immediately close the game.
Thank you and good luck!
SteamOS 3.5 broke Metadeck, all other Decky plugin work. I'm hoping for an update (at some point).
Thanks for your work by the way:)
Plugin never fully loads, consistently hangs on the same title. Can be left to load for hours but makes no progress.

I get this issue on multiple EmuDeck plugins (the other notable one being Emuchievements, which hangs on a different title)
This issue has persisted across multiple Decky Loader versions, on both prerelease and stable, and has persisted across a full reimage.
I would greatly appreciate being pointed to any other details/logs I could grab that may help point us in the right direction to figuring out what's going on.
Tested on desktop mode with Steam Big Picture, I believe it also happens in Game Mode by restarting the system.
Once the Steam client is restarted, all loaded meta information will be lost and needs to be loaded again, I think we can make some kind of a cache for it? And given it's not very critical information, it should be okay to be saved as plain texts, like a json
or something.
I installed this plugin from the Decky store. It worked fine yesterday. Today all non steam games are missing from gaming mode. They still show and work in desktop mode. Removing the MetaDeck plugin and rebooting brought all the non steam games back in gaming mode
Some games are removed from IGDB because they violate twitchs guideline, and aren't a conclusive game database due to this. The ability to manually input descriptions on games would help fill the gaps this creates.
Happens from time to time, usually after selecting a game and going into the Game Info.
After returning to the library, previously viewed game might appear in Great on Deck tab.
It gets sorted out by itself, some kind of auto refresh I suppose.
I should also note that there were worse situations as well where all of the non Steam games would appear in Great on Deck.
I'm not familiar with Steam/Decky plugin system but I've seen in the code that this plugin strips some the game data properties so might be related to that. Sorry for the shitty video, hope it can be fixed. Thanks
