gpufrac's Introduction

This is gpufrac, a program that renders Julia and Mandelbrot set fractals using your GPU.

# INSTALL
########################################################################################################

To build gpufrac, make sure you have the stuff in DEPENDENCIES installed.  Then:

    $ scons
    $ ./src/gui/gpufrac-gui.py

Note that at the moment, gpufrac has to be run from the top-level source directory.

# HARDWARE
########################################################################################################

gpufrac assumes that you have a pretty decent graphics card.  Also, installing the latest drivers for your
graphics card is a very good idea.  There are known problems with older versions of the ATI drivers -- if
you happen to be running Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex, you *will* have weird problems with the default driver version.
