Automating & beautifying Chicagoland.
I'd love a really, really sexy (but consistently-practical) way to store and access all the linens. Saw a really cool rack in The Sims 3, of all places, that I've always wanted to do … perhaps if I can duplicate that cool curved pattern.
I'd like to be able to hang my bathrobe as well. Or perhaps fold it.
Need a way to demonstrate some of my liquors, and any beers or wines we're keeping around.
Need a central location, visible from all the important areas of the apartment, to charge / store All Of The Things™.
I wonder if I could put together a device that tracks their respective charge? I wonder if I could determine their charge-level by how much they're drawing? Then, perhaps, use the average time between charges to determine if they're probably low? Multicolor LED, tracking down through blue to red if they haven't been plugged in in a while? (That way, I don't have to tediously plug in all of the things when I get home, just the ones that either A. I know to need charging, or B. the station suspects should be topped-off.)
Living-room floor isn't very well-kept, as a whole.
Seriously, buy a motherfucking couch
It looks sketchy, to hang them over the laundry-door.
Perhaps someday, I can automate it to track how many paper-towels have been taken. ;)
Wonder if I'd need to chip all of my clothing, itself, somehow.
Probably going to want to wire some chargers onto whatever I get, so they need to accommodate that. (I also don't exactly have a lot of room between the seating.)
Turns out, it's there for handicapped people. Whodathunk.
I've known for a while that I want to build a stand-alone wall to mount the TV, game systems, and etceteras on.
Resources:
I think I want to put shelving up to the ceiling, perhaps backlit, to "make use" of some of that huge liquor collection. Looks like I'm going to be here long enough to justify bringing it all out of storage. (=
Bathroom fan shouldn't stay on indefinitely, when I get out of the shower. (Or someone takes a shit.)
Things fall out of the bottom shelf of my fridge, because the bar holding them in is missing an endcap.
A thin, subtle, and visually appealing stand for the cookie-jar, that should track changes in the weight thereof, and try to determine how many cookies are in the jar. Also, a reminder, or indicator light, when the cookies are getting old; or when new ones need to be made.
Perhaps a cute website to track it; I'm sure that'd gain some Twitter popularity.
