autosc's Issues

Stops running after a few hours

First, this is an incredible addon! I don't know how I played for so long without it, but there's an issue that causes it to stop functioning after about 3 hours of continuous play. When I bring up the console I see the following line:

AutoSC: Lua runtime error: autosc/autosc.lua:246: attempt to index global 'player' (a nil value)

When I try to bring up the UI, I see the first line (--- Auto Skillchains) but nothing shows beneath it. If I reload the addon, it starts working, but it eventually stops functioning again, usually within half an hour.

Settings:
Weapon: Ochu
Open new SC? No
Using: None
Wait for SC effect? No
Use ranged: No
Prefer ranged? No
Close SC Level:
1: No 2: No 3: Yes 4: Yes
Target SC Level: 3
WS Window:
Begin: 2.75 End: 8
Filtered WSs:
None

Weapon with apostrophe in name doesn't get saved, ie Sakpata's Fists

When I load the addon, add the ws to the weapon Sakpata's Fists, everything works fine.
It's a problem when I reload the addon after computer reboot that it doesn't work and the xml file doesn't get saved because it shows that it doesn't accept the "'" (apostrophe character) in the name of the weapon.
<sakpata's_fists>Asuran Fists</sakpata's_fists>

How to make it so that the xml settings file get saved when using a weapon that has an apostrophe in its name?

Autosc gets stuck and won't respond until a manual WS is performed

I have been using this addon for a few weeks now across 2 accounts on separate computers. Typically I setup 1 account to open with a particular WS and then both can respond to close step 2 or more of a chain.

There is some particular condition that causes at least one of the characters to stop responding and then just sits there with 3000TP, even on a fresh mob. Only after a manual intervention of using up the TP by doing any WS does autosc spring back into life. This usually happens after a quite some time but doesn't seem to be at a fixed time after starting //asc on.

So far I have not been able to figure out what the condition is that causes this. I am usually using this in conjunction with a few other addons like autocor and easyfarm and it could be that more than 1 addon tries to do something at the same time and causes autosc to kind of lockup.

I'm not sure if this addon is still supported or not. It's a great shame to setup an overnight EP session that's getting 50-60k EP/hour only to find it dropped to 25k/hour because 1 char is no longer doing a WS.

Filter feature not working?

I believe the filter feature is to either exclusively use the named WSs or remove them from being used (it isn't clear in the docs which way round the filter works). However I can't test it either way as the command never seems to add the WS to the list.

So given a test example, using corsair with a Tauret dagger in main hand.
When I type:
//asc filter Evisceration

I get the response: autoSC: WS Evisceration added to the filtered WSs for Tauret

But it doesn't show in the filtered section of the on-screen widget, that just stays blank.

If I look at the <charname.xml> settings file which does get updated instantly at that time, the entries just show either a blank line or a single unpopulated entry, for instance:

        <ws_filters>
            <carnwenhan>

            </carnwenhan>
            <naegling>

            </naegling>
            <tauret />
        </ws_filters>

Is this me doing something wrong or perhaps something has changed in the few years since it was last tested that has broken the filter feature? btw I don't enter the WS name with auto-translation or anything like that (as I know then it doesn't accept the command anyway).

Cheers in advance

Issue loading on MNK

Hi there, found your addon through random searches as one of the better ones handling skillchains, but am having issues running it on my monk. Here's what I get just loading the addon:

autoSC: Lua runtime error: autosc/autosc.lua:557: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)

I haven't noticed this yet on other jobs; I have a THF and WHM in party right now that are successfully loading/using the addon, just not monk. Presumably something with weapon slots? But I'm no expert, so I defer to you! Let me know what I can provide to help.
