Question about this Repo

Hello,

I was wondering what is the exact purpose of this repository (honest question).
So I looked thru the readme and my DD-WRT version for my v1.8 WR1043ND hardware build is r33607.

I guess in order to upgrade to the latest version out there, I would need to follow the steps in this thread here that you mentioned: https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=311642

And then use the latest DD-WRT build for this router? But I guess that also goes back to my question about this repo. What is the difference between this DD-Wrt build here versus in the DD-WRT official site? Thanks.
