These need separated in some way. Maybe have two different pages with creating album isolated from uploading images to an existing album. Wire frame this up and find the best way that makes sense that has the least impact on your time frame.

I'd be careful of storing your database credentials in your code and I would suggest you make a .env (environment) specific configuration login information. You can also store all other logins in this type of file for API's and such.
