Hi @motlin, we wanted to give the community a chance to contribute individual exercises. General feedback on the solutions @nikhilnanivadekar and I have gotten in person at CodeOne and Devnexus and various JUG meetups was that no one knows the solutions exist and having them in a separate branch makes it hard for passersby to learn and validate their own solutions. The solutions also fall out of date because they are not part of a build and don't get updated when the katas do. This is why @bazzani contributed the solutions to the Pet Kata in the code base. We want consistency so will be doing the same for the solutions for the Company Kata.

Sounds good. When you're done, will you delete the solutions branch?

@prathasirisha I assigned this one to you. @bazzani, if you want to take one of the later ones, just comment on one of them and I will assign it to you. Thanks!

Thanks @donraab I will take a look at the available exercises tonight and try and pick one

I want to make sure you know the kata has solutions already and they live on the branch https://github.com/eclipse/eclipse-collections-kata/tree/solutions

Are you currently working on this @donraab?
I am tempted to bite the bullet and take on a piece of the work, as I have never had time to look at the Company Kata.

I have been out of the loop for too long when it comes to OSS contributions, and I think I need a fun wee project to keep my brain energised in the evenings and weekend.

Could we split the work up? As I am not familiar with the Kata, perhaps I could start work at the first exercise (presumably less challenging), and you could start on the last Kata (presumably more challenging) and work backwards.

Please let me know when if this sounds feasible to you.

D'oh, I just realised that @prathasirisha already created the issues that can be assigned to someone 👍
With regards to me previous comment, could you please let me know @donraab what your ETA is to get all these tasks done, so that I will be able to make a judgement if I have time to commit to helping out.

@bazzani No particular ETA. If you want to take on one of the issues, comment on the issue and I can assign it to you. But you may want to submit a PR fairly quickly, as others may take them on. One of the reasons for breaking up the exercises into individual issues is that they are easier and faster for individuals to complete, and can be parallelized.
