Defer loading of as many packages as possible without affecting UX
Enable and configure auto-insert-mode
auto-insert-mode is the built-in way to execute Elisp when opening a new file based on that file's path and name. We should incorporate this into our configuration, beginning with templates for common Org files.
We can quickly implement something like the following for a given mode:
- When the user opens a new file
Load packages with use-package exclusively
Use use-package's :before and :after keys rather than :init and :config
