Issues repo for Dride app
Steps to reproduction:
Update a resolution, save and the setting will go to default..
Dride starts to record videos in files that are one second long (instead of 1 minute, or 5 minutes). Usually happens after the first video cycle.
Hi, with Firmware 1.2 and version 6.0.0 when I modify a setting and try to save it the app keeps stuck on "Saving".
The issue was already present in previous version, but at least by closing and reopening the app the settings were applied. Now they aren't.
This is to inform that my dride behaves like this:
None of these resolves the problem 100%. Most of the time the app works, after I open the app the app "sets" the dride unit again and it starts to record again. When I reset the dride unit, it usually resumes and records the rest of my journey. The power is the worst, but sometimes the others do not work.
When videos are shared the compression software it uses is terrible. It's hard to make out number plates etc.
This issue was reported on the Dride forum:

A firmware fix is coming..
Firmware 1.2
App v6.0.0
Android 9
The app recognizes the device and try to connect, but keeps hanging on "Connecting."
It had this problem before last update of firmware and app, and it keept it.
It only connected once after have unistalled and reinstalled the app.
After approx 90 minutes the unit usually shuts down. Light goes off and recording stops.
Since installing the Dride in my car three weeks ago I have not had any in-app notifications at all. What notifications are we supposed to get? On iOS 13.2.3, latest version of Dride app and 1.1-Beta-2 firmware.
@saoron As you can see I have 2 saved videos. When I'm disconnected from the dashcam and on my home network it will not upload to Dride cloud and repeatedly giving an error. You said you should be able to upload to cloud when not connected to the unit itself.
Using the latest version of the iOS app. The app hangs on the ‘connecting’ screen. I have to reset the Dride (press and hold the button on it) before I can connect to it via WiFi. This happens every time. It was fine on the previous version of the app. I’ve tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it.
Just an observation that after the firmware update, the system recorded a video in the future, but quickly established the correct date/time for subsequent videos.
This isn't a new bug, but I suspect as these videos in the future continue to show up at the head of the list of videos, that some people may not notice that the videos further down the screen actually have the correct date/time (once the GPS fix is established) [an assumption on my part].
I was able to delete this bad time video, but still not able to delete Event videos (as reported earlier by BilliTheKid)
First of all, lightning fast connection from the app, congrats :)
cannot check the live view, cannot confirm rear view fixed
still video after first loop makes many tiny files
still saving settings from Settings menu takes ages (or is not working)
I think the 10sec-share-button reset is not working
one good feature at this stage would be to show full firmware and all other info info in the "about this device" screen
please name every release with new file name, right now it's the same only size is different
Toggling Parking Mode from OFF to ON, and after leaving the SETTINGS screen and then going back the Parking Mode is back to OFF
Android Pixel 3 XL, Android 10.xx running the 5.5.1 of the Dride app.
There is constant issues with connecting to the app and showing the WiFi connected symbol. Sometimes I need to open the app to do other times it just doesn't connect. If app is closed in the background it will not connect at all. Didn't have this issue before (Android)
Since the update to this firmware, my Dride wont save videos automatically. I have set my settings on a 3 minute length and each time I connect it with my app, I dont see any recordings besides the one when I connect my phone for 5 secs.
When pressing the sharing button it only captured seconds of video. It states this video should automatically either upload to the cloud or download to the device which it doesn't.
Are 32 GB cards supported? Because I could not flash from one, I had to get a 16 GB one. The same manufacturer BTW...
@saoron Sorry these are not separated, but never-the-less... Issues for 1.1-beta-2 emailed 3:14 am AST Nov 19 2019. using App Version iOS 5.8.1

Thanks for the option to test and provide feedback.
Issues when deleting all video's that Dride takes along time to start recording again and for video's to appear.
After updating today from the beta to the public release (which was a little painful) some issues have arisen. (Full hard reset had to be done twice to the unit)
• When pressing the sharing button it gave off a higher pitch chime than usual. (Strange) but no push notification was presented to me that it was downloading the event. I tried a few more times resulting in the same higher pitched chime and then my Dride just froze. Even after turning the engine off it was still on. Hard reset had to be done to rectify this. But nothing was captured and no push notifications. It seemed to work before updating to public release.
• Events time are playing up again.. As you can see the videos on device are fine but the event timing is not. Again didn't have this issue on the beta and only has occured when I switched to public firmware. I think you should just let users set their own times/date format etc.
Since the update to 5.8.2 Andriod 10.xx on a pixel 3xl I haven't been able to connect to the dride. I have deleted the cache, uninstalled. Deleted the wifi connection ... Held the cloud for several seconds. And just stays at the "connecting .. " message on the application
Great to see some improvements with the new app. I recieve notifications when the button is pressed to say the video is downloading. Then I receive another notification to state the video is ready to upload. Please press here to upload. When I do it takes a good few seconds to open the app but it does not direct me to the clip that was downloaded or start to upload automatically as the push notification would have you believe. Issue still with deleting events video clips and returning again.
Uploading to cloud still results in errors. (See attached) Also there seems to be intermediate issues with the thumbnail clips displaying on events (See attached) There still seems to be a bug connecting to the app. Sometimes I need to open the app for it to connect even though the app is still running in the background. This might be the result of the Red banner click to connect possibly. Time stamping is now fixed after deleting all previous videos stored. I'd still like to see an option to change date format for people in different regions. US users would have month, day, year, while EU users would have day, month, year. Currently it's set to year, month, day.
Pick up on GPS satellites seems alot faster.
I'd still like to see the sync sharing button fixed. To have the video automatically upload in the background when pressed and also the issue that I stated above. Other than that it's performing great. I hope you can iron out the last remaining bugs mentioned. @saoron
Running Android Pixel 3 XL, 10.x
Ever since updating my version to 5.6.4 I haven't been able to connect to my 2 Driods cams. It just stays on "Searching for Device"
The uploading of saved events can now be uploaded to Dride cloud from your own network/WiFi
There was no developer log for this release so not sure what over changes have been done.
Issues still:
• Push notifications seems to be broken. Not getting them when the share button is pressed.(Possible server side issue)
• High pitch chime still present when pressing the sync button. Not the usual chime sound. Again does nothing. It did when I was on beta,
but switching to the public firmware update has stopped it. Not sure if this is a server side issue.
• Event video clips are 1 hour behind. Deleted all videos to retest the new app release and it's still the same. (See attached)
• After trying to press and capture events using the sync button the unit freezes. No sound when I press the button and when I turn the engine off the white light is still on. Pin reset is required to turn the unit off. Twice now this has occurred.
Decided to give the device another firmware flash again.
So here are issues still outstanding.
• Push notifications seems to be broken. Not getting them when the share button is pressed at all. (Possible server side issue) It was working but now it has stopped working. Even after pressing the share button and waiting a substantial amount of time no push notification is triggered.
• Deleting individual event videos, closing off the app only has them reappearing again. This was mentioned before but has not been fixed.
• Connectivity seems to be hit or miss. Sometimes it will other times it won't. When I open the app (which I shouldn't have to do) it initates the connection sometimes but not all the time. Been raised from other users on Android as an issue.
Loading the app, I can download/SAVE one EVENT and then when I try to SAVE another one to the phone it stays at 0% of the transfer.
The get around this. I FORCE close the app , restart and it will download the second EVENT clip that was stuck at 0%.... If I try to download a 3rd clip(after the first FORCE CLOSE) it does the same and stays at 0%.

I’m trying to update the firmware to the latest version on Github (2.0-beta-1) https://github.com/dride/dride-app-issues/releases/tag/2.0-beta-1. After updating and deleting the 'bin' file, the light stays red/white rather than pure white though and the firmware version says ‘DrideZero_V0.0.1’. Is that the correct or should the firmware version number be different? And why does the light not go pure white?
Just recieved the update with no user logs.
@saoron Can you tell me what has changed/fixed and implemented with this version please? Has any of the bugs I've highlighted been addressed?
With the implementation of the red banner to connect to Dride it's causing issues with auto pairing in Android.
Sync Button does not automatically upload footage to cloud as advertised. Maybe this can be implemented in the background. @saoron
I thought this issue was fixed and never had issues with timestamp since updating to 1.2. But today, I had a video that had a timestamp of 11/27(incorrect date) for half of the video and half of it 12/4(correct date). Time itself on the whole cod3o was incorrect.
Using the latest Beta firmware, there is no GPS or speed data when playing back a video file. I downloaded the file to my phone and exported it to my laptop. I used the HQBKING player https://master.dl.sourceforge.net/project/windows-hqbking-player/HQBKING%20Player20181107_134400.zip
On the plus side, I now have a pure white light, connection to my phone (iOS) seems quicker and more stable and the forward-facing video is correctly orientated.
This is confirmed bug that will be addressed in version 1.2 of the firmware.
Since updating to the new app 5.8.2 it just hangs and won't connect to the unit now. Something wrong there @saoron Even cleared cache and data and still nothing.
Dride Zero has a built in rear camera, users should be able to upload both front & back videos to the Dride cloud
When I delete a Event recording in 5.7 Android and other older versions it doesn't delete the file after leaving the screen... I Delete the video, looks to be deleted. Goto settings for example and back to the videos and the 'deleted' video it back.
There is still a bug when deleting event videos and they reappear again.
On the campaign it shows you the video in LIVE mode on a phone, full screen at 16 x 9 landscape which isn't implemented yet in this firmware version.
It seems when no power is given to my Dride it still displays a white light momentarily then goes off then there is a chime that comes from it. You cannot connect to it via the app but this white LED on/off and chime goes on for a while after the power has been totally removed from the unit. I mean over an hour or two. I have a video recording acting like this but I cannot seem to post it here.
The latitude longitude values currently display as dd.mmxxxx.
Previously they were ddmm.xxxx
both are subject to misinterpretation at 1st glance, but I presume if they represent degrees and decimal minutes. Perhaps dd:mm.xxx would be less ambiguous.
I know you have likely seen hundreds of videos and their HUD... Just thought I would share this layout for possible firmware update
Nothing appears captured on the dashboard when this is pressed.
