Code 7897254172149 is being validated with 10 (78972541721) and with 13 digits. I think there's no or ean-9, ean-10 or ean-11 (this can be validated in regex), correct me if I'm wrong.

It would be helpful to have a function that return the type of a barcode.

The example given is wrong? Can EAN's have letters?

04971850934912 does not pass validation. but its a valid gtin14 (having a leading zero, the original getin is a gtin13 4971850934912) But you can convert gtin13 to gtin14 by prepending a zero

There is a line in code:

      this.options.enableZeroPadding = true;
}

that prevents setting options.enableZeroPadding to false
