poppler-rs's Introduction

DMS.rs

A Document Management System, written in Rust

Requirements

  • Rust Nightly
  • Webpack
  • Yarn
  • libtesseract

Instructions

yarn
webpack
docker run --name postgres-dmsrs -e POSTGRES_PASSWORD=default postgres:11-alpine
cargo run

Check that the IP in main.rs corresponds to the one returned by docker inspect postgres-dmsrs | jq '.[].NetworkSettings.IPAddress' -r.

Import SQL DB

Since we currently have no SQL Schema generated by the application, you'll have to import this demo SQL file: dmsrs-demo.sql with the following command:

docker cp dmsrs-demo.sql postgres-dmsrs:/tmp
docker exec -it postgres-dmsrs sh

$ psql -U postgres < /tmp/dmsrs-demo.sql
Password for user postgres: (Insert "default" here)
$ exit

poppler-rs's Issues

Memory not freed when dropping a PopplerDocument or a PopplerPage

Current behaviour

When opening multiple files using PopplerDocument::new_from_file() and retrieving pages using PopplerDocument::get_page(), memory consumption does nothing but grow. It is only released when the program terminates.

This is because pointers returned by poppler_document_new_from_file(), poppler_document_new_from_data() and poppler_document_get_page() are owned by the caller, but are not freed.

Expected behaviour

The PopplerDocument and PopplerPage wrapper structs own the pointer given upon their creation, and must therefore release it when they are dropped.

Environment

  • poppler = "0.3.2"
  • libpoppler-glib.so = "8.24"
