gnome-breeze's Issues

Scrollbar colors of breeze-gtk in Firefox don't match KDE/qt theme

In my case (Debian testing, KDE Plasma 5.4), scrollbars in Firefox have slightly different color from Qt applications. In some other GTK applications they are OK (for example in Geany).

Firefox scrollbar:
scrollbar-gtk

Konsole scrollbar:
scrollbar-qt

Switching "Apply colors to non-Qt applications" on or off doesn't affect this issue.

Gtk3 scrollbars too narrow

Compared to Qt and Gtk2 scrollbars, the Gtk3 ones are much narrower. They're quite hard to grab.

Top to bottom: Gtk3 (gedit), Qt5 (Konsole), Gtk3 again, Gtk2 (libreoffice).

Gnome web (epiphany) scrollbar issue

Hi congrats for the theme. It's great to have it on Gnome !
I'm getting a slight imperfection^^ on Epiphany (Gnome web browser). Scrollbar is too thin compared to its "container" (I don't know how to call it).

Many widget bugged on gtk 3.18

I am using debian sid with GTK 3.18 and many widgets from GTK <= 3.16 themes are bugged. Like header bars. Can you update theme to 3.18?

Libreoffice menus broken

Menus in libreoffice are broken but are fine in other gtk applications.

Libreoffice:

Firefox and other gtk applications (ignore the fading, only appears in screenshot):

Indeterminate (mixed) state breaks checkboxes on hover (GTK3)

Idk if this is a problem here or in firefox (developer edition), but when hovering the indeterminate state checkbox here, it moves to looking checked.

the glitch persists when hovering another checkbox afterwards.

Only firefox developer edition has GTK3, so you have to test there.

Incorrect scrollbar colours in Firefox

In Firefox (but no other gtk2 applications I've tried), the scrollbars are drawn in slightly-but-jarringly incorrect colours.

With the Breeze colourscheme, the area is RGB #D6D8DB, the slot is #BDC3C7 and the slider #74757A. The expected colours as used by other applications are #EFF0F1, #B7B6BB, #74777B respectively.

Screenshot - the background of planetkde.org is the expected scrollbar colour.
Firefox in foreground, Qupzilla behind.

Firefox GTK3 - scrollbars

In FF 43 with GTK3 (on Archlinux), the scrollbar track extends further than it should, behind the up/down arrows. This leaves a section of empty track visible at the top even when the page is scrolled all the way up (same for the bottom).

The scrollbar is also too narrow.

EDIT: Picture (page at top).

Tab bar color on chrome/chromium

Hi, thanks for this great work... the last version is perfect for libreoffice, inkscape and all other gtk2 app but for chrome there's a issue on tab bar color...

missing asset in gtk3 theme

when launch nvidia-settings with GTK3:

(nvidia-settings:31918): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading image 'file:///usr/share/themes/Breeze-dark-gtk/gtk-3.0/assets/scrollbar-slider-overlay-horizontal-dark.png': Error al abrir el archivo: No existe el fichero o el directorio

(no such file or directory)

and, i'm not sure if is a theme fault

(nvidia-settings:31918): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme directory apps/system-power-actions of theme breeze-dark has no size field

(nvidia-settings:31918): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme directory apps/toolbar of theme breeze-dark has no size field

Incorrect colors on the progressbar in gtk2

As you can see the colors on the progressbar for each torrent doesn't make sense.

deluge

I have unhooked the "Apply colors to non-Qt applications" as suggested for another bug.

Simple installation instructions in README

This may sound stupid, but I have no idea how to install a GTK theme in KDE, especially not right from GitHub.

Could anyone be so glad to add installation instructions to the README file?

Many thanks!

Theme issue with latest deluge-gtk

Running Arch with gnome-breeze-gtk installed from the AUR. When using deluge-gtk to connect to my remote daemon, there are some issues with how the theme appears. This seems to be an issue with deluge so I am not sure if it can be fixed in the theme but I figured I would post here. All progress bars in main window as well as those that appear in the "files" and "details" windows are unreadable most of the time.

Problem in menus in qt applications

Hello,

I use the breeze-gtk theme in a few qt applications which do not follow the global qt configuration such as skype or flareget. I noticed a little problem in drop down menus : the separation lines are too thick.

no visual feedback when moving a file to a sidebar folder in nautilus

Arch linux, nautilus 3.20.1-1, gnome-breeze theme from master from today.

When you grab a file on the right and move it to a folder on the left (Music of whatever) in order to move the file into that folder, the folder does not get selected to allow to drop the file there.

Thanks,

Scrollbar arrows are misaligined in GTK2 Breeze theme

Here is an example of top scroll bar arrow from Firefox 42 using Breeze dark GTK 2 theme (shown with KDE magnifier). Same thing really happens with the bottom arrow as well. Notice thin green lines which I put to highlight the misalignment which is slightly to the right:

Theme doesn't honor color scheme

Seems like the Breeze color scheme is hard-coded into the GTK theme. The oxygen-gtk(2)(3) theme honors the color scheme chosen. Can you make the Breeze theme honor the KDE color scheme? See screenshot comparison between Dolphin and VIM.

Breeze-gtk makes all apps black

I don't know for sure if it is the team or my pc, but I first picked Breeze-dark-gtk and all my GTK apps became unreadibly black, so I switched to Breeze-gtk and rebooted, but still most apps are black.

gtksourceview background color not working properly

The GTK2-based application CoqIDE uses gtksourceview to display source code, and it uses background color (per statement) to display the state of the statement. Background colors are not displayed correctly with the breeze theme.

Here's a screenshot of CoqIDE with breeze: https://coq.inria.fr/bugs/attachment.cgi?id=805
And here's a screenshot with Clearlooks:
coqide2

CoqIDE 8.5 is packaged in Debian and probably other distributions. The screenshots above are with CoqIDE 8.6, which is available via opam ("opam install coqide"), where opam in turn is oackaged in Debian and probably other distributions.

GTK Eventbox background Color visible on Synapse (GTK3)

Synapse use what i believe are Eventbox extended objects.
The issue is the bg color is rendered transparent.

1e9e41a3d2a51717

So obviously setting * { background-color: red; } affects its color. But i tried to affect all background-color props in gtk.css (gtk3 folder). None is affecting EventBox. I believe this may not be implemented by this theme ? Can help more since i don't know anything about gtk stuff.

My synapse version is compiled against gtk 3.16.7
I also tried the branch upstream-polish with no success

Scrollbar size in firefox

Hello,
Scrollbar in fiirefox are thinner than scrollbar in other place.

But it's flagrant in full screen

Broken in GTK+ v3.20

The theme is completely broken in GTK 3.20. Lists and menus have no padding, checked checkboxes don’t display their captions, and there are almost no visual components (button/combobox/checkbox borders). All GTK3 programs provide 1762 lines of error output.

The breakage is caused by CSS changes:

  • The CSS machinery now uses element names for widgets and their components
  • CSS margins, borders, padding and min-width and min-height are now much more consistently supported
  • CSS features that have been added: radial gradients, recoloring symbolic icons, image(), calc(), rem

No GTK3 breeze / breeze-dark theme found in KDE Plasma 5.4.3 (Debian)

When current master is installed in Debian (I use $HOME/.local/share/themes location), GTK3 themes aren't discovered by Application Style / GTK Style (in System Settings).

I know this Plasma is outdated, but Debian testing is stuck with it unfortunately, and it might take a while to get unstuck.

Copying gtk-3.18 to gtk-3.0 provides a workaround for Debian testing at least.

Provide some flexibility for colors

With theme made by now one cannot set another color scheme as the colors are mostly hardcoded in the pngs.
Users switching to another colorscheme in KDE will see inconsistent Look&Feel between native and GTK applications.

Undraggable area in the scrollbar margins

breeze-gtk theme (I tested it with GTK2 one in Firefox) doesn't allow one to drag the scorllbar when mouse pointer is on the margin, left or right of the actual scrollbar UI element (see red marks in the example below):
scrollbar-bug

That makes it quite annoying when you don't hover exactly above it and can't scroll. In comparison, in Qt Breeze theme, one can scroll even when the mouse is above the margin.

Tiny unclickable section at top of menubar

I'm using this kwin script to hide borders when a window is maximised. If I maximise Dolphin, then I can push my mouse cursor to the top of the screen, then click to activate the menus.

However, if I run Gnumeric with Breeze-gtk active, there appears to be a tiny "unclickable" region at the top of the menubar, which is about 2 pixels wide. This means that the mouse cursor cannot be on the screen edge to activate menubars in GTK applications. This is slightly more fiddly, and inconsistent with native Plasma/Breeze menubars.

Menus in nautilus header-bar are transparent

!WOW! - thank you for this cool theme - it's awesome!

Minor bug: the menus in the nautilus header-bar are transparent.

Thanks,

Menu separators inconsistent

In Qt, the separators in menus have 3px padding above and below, making them 7px high overall. The central line reaches both edges of the menu.

In Gtk3, this padding is doubled to 6px, for a total height of 13px. This adds a lot of whitespace in menus with a few separators. There are gaps to each side of the line.

In Gtk2, there is 3px padding above and 6px below. This makes the separators look rather uneven. There are also gaps.

Theme build fails when the custom window decoration font is set

It is because of the WMactiveFont property is being written to _global.scss during render_assets.py execution.

Active button not recognizable

screenshot from 2016-10-29 14-18-49

In dialog boxes, can't tell which is the currently active button. Mouse hover creates a blue border. But, when operating only from keyboard using arrow keys and enter, there is no way to tell which button is currently active.

Where to report bugs for breeze-gtk?

I see now that breeze-gtk is integrated in KDE codebase, KDE bug tracker supports filing bugs for it:

https://bugs.kde.org/buglist.cgi?component=gtk%20theme&list_id=1318150&product=Breeze&query_format=advanced

Is KDE bugzilla now the preferred place, or this Github repo should still be used? It's better to have one place to avoid confusion (if KDE bug tracker is preferred, may be it's good to point out that in this repo, or even make it read only for issues?).
