mcareader's Introduction

Github release PyPI

license GNU LGPLv3

Build Status Documentation Status

mcareader

A minimal python interface to read Amptek's mca files.

Note this program is not supported by Amptek, use at your own risk.

Installation

Assuming you have Python with pip:

  • To install the last 'stable' version from pypi: pip install mcareader. Do not expect much stability in the API though...
  • To install the last development version: pip install https://github.com/dih5/mcareader/archive/master.zip.

If you are a cool guy you'll prefer to use python3 and pip3 instead, unless you are a cool Arch Linux user.

Running

Check the notebook intro.ipynb for an updated example of use. No need to install Jupyter notebook: you may check it online in GitHub.

The updated documentation can be found here.

mcareader's Issues

Is it possible to set the bin width in mcareader?

Hi all,

I'm a new python user and since I use an Amptek detector, your mcareader is simply great.
The only question now is whether it is possible to set the bin width of a histogram?

Thanks and best regards,
Theresa

Calibrate Data

Hi again,

since I'm always using uncalibrated data, I wanted to ask whether mcareader has an option to perform the calibration afterwards?

Thanks and best regards,
Theresa

Fix version compatibility

  • Extrapolation does not work in py2.6 or py3.3. Support or remove.
  • Travis CI will fail for py3.6 until minconda supports it.
