Feature requets of user:

I would love to be able to have the notifications appear on my second monitor and be able to choose where like it is setup now... top left, top right, bottom left or bottom right.

The date in the file information window is not translated when using another language of the player.

Is this coupled to the windows language?

When Dopamine sits in tray and has no opened windows, it still shows in Alt+Tab.

Users are confused about the WASAPI setting "Exclusive mode".
Add some explanation about what this setting does.

Similar to the now playing screen, cover art should be shown on all screens of the full player view. (maybe optional)

Context menu integration would be nice, so that I can right-click on a folder in Windows Explorer and select “Play in Dopamine,” as I could back in the days of Winamp.

Something like right clicking on a song and selecting ‘search for youtube video’ or to that effect.

When importing a playlist, the user is not notified if one or more paths cannot be found.

I had spotted difficulty to change/select the album by double-click on its artwork cover image (on a touchscreen). It’s impossible to do it the first time, I have to try it several times. I was also trying to vary the rate of clicks within the double/clicj but it doesn’t seem to have any impact.

Currently Dopamine defines an album by the combination of album title and album artist.

This causes albums with multiple album artists to be split up.

Is there a better way of defining albums? By just album title?

I'm encountering a bit of an issue after my device comes back from a sleep state or if I power off my output device (I output over HDMI to a Yamaha receiver to a Samsung monitor). When this occurs, playback will not resume.

I'm fairly sure this is actually a framework issue though as Xbox Music and Windows Media Player do suffer from the same issue as well - just wanted to report it for clarification of whether it is or not? Kodi and Media Player Classic do not suffer from the same issue but then again they do not use Microsoft Media Fountation.

And different styles of Spectrum analyzer we could choose from.

I just have one problem with it. I'm listening to a lot of soundtracks with tracklist sometimes over 30 tracks. The thing is that when I want to open them all in Dopamine it by default opens in Windows Media Player (I'm browsing them in Windows Explorer, selecting them and pressing enter). From what I observed, the maximum number of tracks can be 15 (and it opens in Dopamine), when it is 16 or more it opens in Windows Media Player. It's annoying because I have so much music and I can't scan everything to do playlists and add them to Collection (not everything is tagged correctly and have album covers, just don't have time to tag and cover everything). I checked with foobar and it opens correctly. Don't know if it's something about Dopamine or my Windows 10 but maybe it will help You with solving this.

When there is no artist or title set, the taskbar item info still tries to display it. In such case, it should display the filename.

Add possibility to Drag and drop music into the list

Is it possible to add the player to the taskbar, like WMP?

When artwork is changed in the database because of changes of artworkfiles on disk (and probably also embedded artwork), the lists need complete reload. Is there a way to not have to reload everything? (async fetching from db and updating the list item per item?)

Add a "shuffle all" button that is always available, like in groove.
Pressing that button, starts a random song (see groove).

It should be possible to add songs from one playlist to another playlist.

After a windows crash, sometimes it is not possible to read the settings file after starting dopamine again. In such case, the OOBE is shown to the user (probably because showoobe boolean cannot be found). Is there a way to avoid that?

I would also love if the app window (especially the mini player) could dock to the screen edges. These were my two cents.

Setting the default start page, for example "albums" instead of "artists" (Currently, you can only choose to start with the last one that was selected)

Add smart playlists

When songs are removed from the collection, they are not removed from now playing.

When "Show tray icon" is enabled, there should be an option to hide the icon from the taskbar also when the window is not minimized.

After investigation:

This however causes following issue: when the icon is hidden from the taskbar BEFORE the window is minimized, once it is minimized, part of the window remains in the lower left corner of the screen.

How to revolve this? Catch the minimize event before StateChanged is fired? (this can only be done by calling win32 functions).

Ive been using Dopaming ever since day1 and I love it, today I have encountered some issues while playing an ATB album in .flac (its an entire album packed into a single file, around 600mb)

So what issues I'm talking about ?

The music playback crackles every now and then, stops for 1 sec and continues, and many more irritating things.

I've checked my disk usage during those skips and annoying moments and everything was fine so it's not my HDD.

I've used .flac before in dopamine without issues, not an entire 600mb album packed into a single file but individual tracks and I didnt notice these issues.

Ran into an issue today – I had a set of files that began a repair with PAR2, and disk I/O was about 54% and the FLAC I was playing was very choppy, even after I increased the priority to high. CPU was around 7%. I have a quad-core i7 processor with 16G RAM. Might want to increase file buffering if RAM can support it…

It would be nice to filter the index of songs by extension (mp3, m4a, flac, etc...), to have the choice of which files we want to be indexed in the Dopamine collection.

Option to keep the control element (playback control, progress bar, etc) persistent in the now playing screen, so they're not fading out when not in use.

Ability to add currently playing song to a playlist (I listen to whole genres and will add a song to a playlist as I hear it)

But I am having a problem with my Philips SHB7000 wireless headset and Dopamine. When using my headset's media keys, Next and Previous works as expected but Play/Pause doesn't work. Its not picked up by your Keyboardtest. Groove Music has no problem with my headset.

With this release (build 626) is that tracks are long to start, around 20 seconds for some, i play files from my NAS. I hadn't this problem on older releases.

Add a Bit rate column to the Songs screen

User question : Is it in the plan for Dopamine to support .CUE file? I've got a couple of CD's in one big FLAC with .CUE file.

Foobar can handle it. Check how Foobar does it.

Feature requets from user:

I have a feature request: ability to set the playback device. I have my system configured with my speakers and headphones as separate devices. I do this so I can have the headphone set as default and thus used for watching Youtube, playing games etc. However I generally prefer music to come out of the speakers instead. I can do this in foobar2000 by adding icons to the toolbar that lets me switch between both devices easily. I'm not suggesting you go this far with Dopamine, just a setting would do.

List of ColorSchemes doesn't scale well when there are more colors than the main window can display. Put them in a WrapPanel.

Only the artwork for the list of Albums is updated. All lists which contain TrackInfo's are not updated. Also the mini player still shows no or out of date artwork.

The artwork path's should be centralized somewhere and fetched when needed?

The now playing list should allow sorting of songs by drag & drop.

It should be possible to rearrange songs in playlists

Removing songs from a playlist now causes a complete reload of the playlist.

This should be avoided.

This happens when opening a list of tracks which don't have an ArtworkID set, because indexing is done but cover art fetching is not yet finished.

When cover art fetching is finished, the TrackInfo.Album's are not updated.

Chosing another artist or album fixes that, because that loads a new list of Trackinfo's.

Pressing the play button doesn't start playing the selected track. Instead, the first track of the active list is played. This is also the case for playlists.

So, when you do a Skype call, Windows by default lowers other applications' volume by 80%. In Dopamine, it works just fine until the current song ends and the next one starts. Then again, as loud as it was before the call.

The songs screen needs a semantic zoom.

When switching between tracks there is a big gap between 2 tracks. What causes this? Is TryPlay() too heavy?

Also It would be great if we could add our own artist images so they show up on the now playing screen. Something as flexible like how Plex does it. Artist images in each folder with a name like "poster_1,poster_2,poster_3" and fade randomly into each other with text.
